Texsox
Trying for one positive themed thread going, although not that positive. They are currently 13 games under .500. Barring a major sell off, and accounting for the usual injuries, the most optimistic I can be is for them to get to a few games under.500. With 135 games remaining they need to go 74-61 to reach .500. I can't see a scenario that they do much better than 70-65. With a sell off for prospects, and the really thin farm system, they could lose 100. Other positives would be rookies, and players back to their positions full time (Andrew) having a better second half and ending the season with some confidence. First of all, this team is not good enough to go 74-61 to finish 81-81. Even if they did, they wouldn't make the playoffs. Assuming this team is not making the playoffs, then the best thing is to trade off a lot of the players that are failing us and will never help us be winners at the deadline. We need to get prospects for them to somehow strengthen our bottom end farm system. There are probably 6-7 players on this roster worth keeping, along with Montgomery and Schultz in the minors. I would gut this team and bring up rookies, whether they are ready or not...which of course they are not. If they lose well over a 100 games, then good. Maybe that would be enough embarrassment to get Jerry to fire Kenny and Hahn. However if that wouldn't get those two losers fired, then we are all seriously fucked and this team will be a disaster for many more years until Jerry Reinsdorf finally passes away and the team is sold. I am for whatever final season trainwreck disaster needs to take place, in order to hopefully get change in the FO and manager/coaching staff.
