15th and just a handful of games under the .500 mark for the 21st century.

Since the beginning of 2020, 12th in the majors during their overpromised and under delivered World Series window.

Dodgers (.669, averaging a series win every time out), TB, Houston, Atlanta and NYY Top Five for the Covid years.

21st from 2010-2023

For the entire Hahn regime that put them around 22nd or 23rd...2010/2011 the last two KW regime years.

2010's 88-74 and then the following season's 79-83 got KW promoted to the front office... well, Adam Dunn fallout, Ozzie and Buehrle splitting, etc.

They truly are. Sadly, mediocre can with this division.

If the Tigers had a healthy Mize, Skubal and Matt Manning they might  actually be current favorites despite the putrid lineup.

Or had they freed up Miggy's money to spend on something more than a retirement tour.

I miss the Go Go Sox years so much, from 1951 through 1967 the Sox were 380 games over .500. The W-L record was 1499-1119 for a .573 winning percentage. I did the homework awhile back and the only teams IIRC that won more games in those years were the Yankees and Dodgers.

I can’t take any joy from that.  An unlikable team winning a crappy division.  I’ve already tuned them out and that would not interest me.

The 1973 mediocre Mets won 82 games, won the Division, won the playoff series and almost won the WS losing to the A’s in 7 games, right now I’d take that.

And it would reinforce Jerry to do nothing next off-season.

How did the fans paying attention make any difference?

I notice no Harper, no Machado, no Wheeler on the roster.

The Crown Jewels of fans not tuning them out has turned out to be Grandal and Benitendi.

I didn’t say it’s not possible.  I just would take no joy from it.  There is only one likable player on the team (Burger) and he will be hurt by season’s end.

(Of course it is close to impossible as they will be sellers at the trade deadline.)

Two of the most generic second tier veterans that would draw blank stares if you asked random MLB fans the two biggest deals in White Sox franchise history?

The Phillies went  to the 2022 World Series. They got hot in the playoffs and wound up in the World Series. I don't know anybody who thought they had the best team in the NL. I would be happy to see the White Sox in the 2023 playoffs.

29% chance of winning games league wide without home ring as a team.

Not exactly the greatest of odds there for the Guardians, with only 30 on the season.

https://www.espn.com/mlb/stats/team/_/table/batting/sort/homeRuns/dir/asc

Four of bottom 11 in the majors AL Central.

White Sox now 20th.

Quite strange to not see Houston (Abreu) and Philly up there.

Only if they can rattle off 8-10 wins in a row at some point. That losing streak was quite disconcerting (edit fix) and not conducive to making the postseason. Thanks Pedro for your work during that skid.

If Sox played their games in Detroit ... wow, they'd have Benintendi-like HR totals for most of their hitters.

Cleveland Guardians' Jose Ramirez seemingly unaffected by wearing Moncada Collection day-glo sleeves, socks and apparel.

In all seriousness, Francona really runs a solid ship over there.  Quality human being.

AJ and Benetti on Fox Game of the Week just interviewed Cal Quantrill and it seemed our "homer" broadcasters were having a lot more fun than being around the White Sox debacle.

I also remember those pre homer happy years. A different style of ball suited to a different ballpark and ball.

Let's break this down in even better perspective to exactly the seasons since 2013 through 2023, when Rick Hahn has been the General Manager, since his initial promotion in Oct. 26, 2012:

One of the great mysteries is what happened to the team down the stretch from 2012 into 2013.

A team that plated much better defense in 2012 suddenly just fell apart, more or less.

Eventually they would add Abreu, who was just a monster back then... but too little too late to turn things back around.

Feels like none of their top prospects like Beckham Viciedo and Avisail from back then really lived up to their promise... and Anderson was such a raw prospect when he hit the big leagues as well.

This is one of the very FEW record breakdowns that even has historically abysmal KC over the Sox due largely to the 2013-2016 time period.
