this is why this team ultiimately sucks.

Bad offense.. bad approaches... maybe we need to hire an optometrist instead of a manager.

even burger as good as he has been at times.. he also has a terrible eye and has no concept.

They would probably end up with a detached retina or eye strain or car accident on the way back and forth to the office.

Glaucoma drop might cause temporary blindness in Eloy.

Burger Robert Vaughn 0-11 with 10 Ks not even competitive ABs

Please blow this whole thing up.

Burger was a high draft pick.  He should not be Rob Deer.

Grifol needs to go and take Anderson with him.

The epitome of how bad this organization is comes down to Tanner Banks is thought of as a real piece.

Burger is the least of their problems.

Anything he accomplished after where his career was three seasons ago was just playing with house money.

He was so valued by the Sox they allowed him to play independent ball just to get at-bats.

Last two games and out of a total  of  54 outs the Sox struck out 32 of those 54. Is that how you play winning baseball?

That's the stat of the night. Mind boggling. I can't believe I wasted hours watching so many strikeouts. So fricking boring. Do teenagers still hate baseball or are they back? Can't imagine young peeps with the computer games give baseball a chance on a given night. Soooo boring.

Lost in this corpseball performance tonight was this little nugget:

"Mariners right-hander Bryan Woo, who entered with a 10.80 ERA, struck out a career high nine batters."

If these guys aren't embarrassed by that nothing will impact or affect them.  ?

Won't impact them slightly. This was nothing new.

So Hahn has theoretically three more times to face the media until after the trade deadline.

  • June 19th vs. Texas (Boston) - Likely record 31-42 .425
  • July 4th vs. Toronto (Saint Louis) - Limited media/interest on holiday. Likely record 35-51 .407
  • July 25th vs. Cubs (Cleveland follows) - Likely record 37-58 .389

Burger will likely be exposed at 3B over a longer stretch, and finish in the mid .750 range for OPS if Yoan is out an extended period.

Very good point. He has no defensive ability. Surprised teams don't bunt on him more. Oh wait, bunts don't exist anymore.

He had a rough debut against the Rangers that inflated his ERA.

Last start, he struck out a then-career high 7 Angels (including Trout twice) in a game he went into with a 27 ERA! ?

Are the Angels clowns? Or does the kid with a .89 WHIP and 12 K/9 in the minors this year maybe have decent stuff? You think the Mariners were starting him for shits and giggles?

There's no shortage of real disappointments, we really don't have to pretend  we faced a "10+ ERA pitcher" to criticize the approach or results.

Those are often Sox killers.

We sure could use some rose colored glasses.

Losing five of six and six of eight at this stage of season: Bye bye manager

Hope so.  No adjustments.  Can’t manufacture runs. No walks taken.  Lots of strike outs.  Nothing changes for the better.  Team is dead.  Grifol is a major bust.

How does Jimenez not take at least one pitch?

Dinner reservations?

If I was Grifol I would have every batter tomorrow take at least a pitch.  Swinging at everything all is producing is a sporadic solo homer and lots of strike outs. Need to try something different.
