hankchifan
How much longer is Pedro going to keep TA hitting second? TA has failed to set the table for Luis, like Benintendi is now doing leading off and taking walks. TA defense has also been poor. He failed to cover second in the bottom of the 9 th. Fortunately, we had a big lead tonight. In any game TA plays, he should be hitting in the bottom of the lineup. These actions are no brainers. IMO.
CWSpalehoseCWS
They don't have the guts to drop him lower. It's really puzzling. IDK if he is truly that much of an issue or distraction in the clubhouse that they don't want to rock the boat or they're that dumb that they want him in the 2 hole. Kind of like they're one of the few teams in baseball that would never consider moving Yoan Moncada to another position.

Zero sense to move Yoan off of 3B here. Burger doesn’t have the defensive skills to play 3B as a regular starter, nor do they have anyone else to play through Yoan’s contract. That’s the problem right now with Yoan out and Tim hurt and or regressing. The Sox are down to covering four of nine lineup spots with a capable starting player (DH, 1B, LF and CF), and zero capable players (hitting plus avg + defense) to fill the other five. Best to flip Eloy ASAP, get Yoan long term healthy either this or next year, move Burger as a cost controlled player to DH the next year or two if he can make the adjustments to be a capable starter, and try to get someone who can at least cover 3B defensively here (low cost early 40s veteran) to avoid decimating the pitching staff. When it really comes down to it, Anderson shouldn't be in the lineup at all. He hasn't hit all season, and his head isn't in the game. His drop off is amazing. I don't know what is going on with him, but his career is in real jeopardy. Elvis can't hit, but he'd give you more than this. There should be some kind of intervention with Anderson because he is falling apart. 2
Texsox
He'll figure it out one day and be his old self. Just have confidence. If you don't like the lineup see Jerry.
Capn12
Beni Remi Luis Eloy AV Burger Rest of the lineup doesn't matter TA should be somewhere in the 7-9 range. But pride comes before the fall, apparently.
Harry Chappas
They treat him like he is Ichiro. He should be benched behind Elvis and probably Romy. Remillard looks the best of the four. It's obvious the guy has zero interest in playing he offers zero at the plate and struggles to make routine plays. The Blue Jays sent Montoah away, too bad the White Sox don't have the balls to do that with Anderson. If he is hurt then at least move him down in the order but better yet put him on IL, he is literally hurting the team every game.
Greg Hibbard
He will be traded in less than 40 days one way or another. It’s a shame that everyone is probably going to focus on the last two bad months here rather than the 3-4 good years he had here.

KipWellsFan
I'm as puzzled as anyone. But benching a former batting champion for a guy with a career 700 OPS in the minor leagues is not a no brainer. 1

What's the shame is, as Tim struggled he could have been more humble and less arrogant during his struggles at the plate. If he would have kept his mouth shut and just told the media and fans he was trying his best and will continue to do so, then maybe we would have more time to reflect on the good years Tim gave us. Nice story, but a hot 4 weeks doesn't make a season or career. On this sad sad team he stood out for a minute but now he's hitting like a poor man's rob deere. 1

The irony is, it would actually make more sense to have Tim batting 9th. The advantage being, 1. less pressure at 9th and 2. if Tim did get on, now we have Benintendi coming up who has the best BA and OBP on the team of the qualified hitters. Then you have Remi 2nd who is doing great and has the best BA and OBP of all Sox hitters and deserves a higher spot. Then most importantly, you now have Robert coming up #3 with maybe a few men on base. That might just be a good thing for Robert and his power and maybe less solo home runs. Then again that would be way too logical and smart for Pedro. Plus I'm sure Pedro already had this discussion with Jerry to leave TA 2nd. 1
Bob Sacamano
I feel like you gotta IL Tim and give him a chance to get healthy (if that has been a factor in him underperforming). Roster moves: -TA to 10-day IL -DFA Clint Frazier (clear a 40-man spot for next move) -Select the contract of Erik Gonzalez for backup IF (if Sosa is still out) or Nate Moundou (a left-handed hitter) for lineup balance -Recall Colas Edited June 29, 2023 by Bob Sacamano

Whether the team wants to keep Tim one more year or try to trade next month or offseason, the only logical step is to continue playing him if he is fully healthy, or IL him until he is. Benching him while healthy makes zero sense, and in terms of where he bats, it's irrelevant for the rest of the year in terms of the White Sox competitive chances since they will likely be 10-15 + games under .500 at the All Star Break, and sellers a few weeks later. Incredibly small sample size, but he was doing well in the WBC and the beginning of the season until Alberto punched his knee backwards. It's so frustrating that they insist on rushing guys back.
