Gio was one of my favorite Sox of all time. Class act. From his struggles in AAA to being the worst pitcher in the league to his rebound, no-hitter, and dominant playoff start, he gave us a ton of thrills.

ReyLo also pitched here.

Lucas absolutely looked like an Ace in that Oakland win....too bad we didn't have any other starters that series.

Also, BA just released an updated top 10 for the Sox.  Here’s my guess where these guys would slot in:

  1. Colson Montgomery, SS (#28)
  2. Noah Schultz, LHP (#41)
  3. Edgar Quero, C (#84)
  4. Oscar Colas, OF
  5. Bryan Ramos, 3B
  6. Christian Mena, RHP
  7. Peyton Pallette, RHP
  8. Jonathon Cannon, RHP
  9. Ky Bush, LHP
  10. Jose Rodriguez, SS

However, it’s possible that Bush falls out of the top 10 altogether when the draft picks are added.  Gonzalez should slot in 4th and Taylor somewhere around 10 to 12.

Bush is totally going into next years’s bullpen isn’t he?

They can't afford to do that with as many holes they have in the rotation and with a more limited payroll. They need him to be in the lower half of the rotation at some point in 24.

They need one more close to MLB pitching prospect.

Problem is we just traded the biggest chip we have (sounds like Cease and Timmy are staying).  I don’t think any of the other guys they will deal have enough value to get you someone super interesting.

I would like to see the Sox do something smart and bring in a solid catching coach to work specifically with Quero, can also work with Perez and anyone else down there. Develop defensive, game calling/management skills.

The is the White Sox' best chance to develop an internal catcher they can keep during their controllable years since Karkovice (Olivo and Narvaez both traded to Seattle for for Freddy and Colome, respectively).
