flavum
Did a good job by all accounts in the WBC. Wants to be a manager, unlike a Robin Ventura type. Played recently enough to have respect. Will probably kick your ass himself if you get out of line. Great personality and good with the media obviously. Bring a guy in that is a true fresh start. Hire Dero! Edited August 8, 2023 by flavum

MiddleCoastBias
Hell yeah, fully on board. Understands the traditional game, unwritten rules, etc but also willing to shake things up to see what works. Also important, he doesn't have any of the Sox institutional stench on him (though that probably also disqualifies him from actually getting a job here). caulfield12
Girardi will get brought up here as well. Scioscia…the anti-Maddon.
Timmy U
Changing managers is just rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic. Need a new FO.
BigHurt3515
First, fire everyone in the front office and start over then find a manager
Bob Sacamano
I thought the same recently but not sure he wants to do that full time instead of his TV gig.
Chick Mercedes
Its not the manager that can fix the attitude problems of players that get paid by the Sox before they accomplish anything. Theres no way through that fog.
GGajewski18
This thing needs to burn from the top down. I'm fine with Grifol with Hahn and KW here because nothing would change. Only way Grifol is gone is if these clowns are gone 1

Quin
I love that the first suggested hire (other than Ozzie) is a guy whose most notable coaching move to date is playing Tim Anderson out of position to help out a star studded lineup.
nitetrain8601
Don't want anyone making a decision on this squad any further. It's pretty clear to see how come development of all these stud prospects has failed with no accountability after Renteria left. It's possible to have fun while holding people accountable. Maddon did it. Dusty does it. It's okay for Eloy to wear his shirt loose, pop the chest hair with the gold around his neck. It's ok for Anderson to be outspoken as well as defend himself. It's not okay that each individual team member is just that, an individual on an island by themselves forced to figure it out themselves. This team needs a FO that's held accountable, that holds their subordinates accountable and let that flow down to the minors. They need to teach analytics like launch angles. Stop suppressing pitchers and give them the role that fits them, like Kopech and closing. Lastly, this team needs to accept leadership and it's not just one guy, it needs to be multiple folks. Never thought I'd say it, but yes, this team needed Ozzie or his type to check players when they're out of line. To get on Eloy for not training properly, etc.

CWSpalehoseCWS
Please no. I can't stand DeRosa. We did the whole unwritten rules/old school mentality with Tony. We don't need that crap again.

He’s loosened his stance on some of the hard ass baseball stuff over the years. He’s very likable too. I don’t know how anyone can’t stand him. Especially the Hawk episode where he said Jerry's word cannot be trusted at this point with guys like Boyer undercutting him. (Multiple people have come out after Boyer this Spring including the current and previous TV PBP announcers).
wrathofhahn
I'd rather allow a new GM to put their own guy play in place
