Secondly, the fact that there is already chatter about Grifol, Getz and Haber keeping their jobs has me very concerned. Chris Getz hasn’t done a damn thing to prove his worth. The farm system hasn’t developed crap outside of the obvious first round draft picks. And it’s evident that Pedro is a horrible manager. Why keep him around? Unless your organizational plan is to tank in 2024? But why would there already be a “plan” without a new president of baseball ops in place? Makes me think that Jerry is likely hiring from within. If this is the case, nothing will change. Getz will be Rick Hahn lite. Until that internal hire is announced, I will cling onto hope that Jerry hires someone on the outside. But keep in mind, there was a report not too long ago where JR didn’t seem too enamored with Pedro. Certainly not at the level that Hahn and KW were. Ultimately the new GM decides who the manager is. I like Randy Flores for the job. He can draft. If the Sox can start drafting correctly and actually he very good at it, that will lead to sustained success. JR will likely f*** it up, but lets at least let it happen first.
