Getz/Moore is a joke.....but consider that no one credible is going to work for an 87 year old owner who could sell or pass away at any time and then they know new ownership will want their own person.

No one is going to sign up for that.

that's a good point

Why wouldn’t Getz have been named immediately if this was happening? I’ll wait for it to be official before I freak out on JR.

Yeah, why say interim and name candidates.

The concerning part is tlr is and always was going to be involved which doesn't bode well. He needed to hire someone outside to manage a search.

Look up the origin of Kellogg's.

“In 1876, John Harvey Kellogg became the superintendent of the Battle Creek Sanitarium (originally the Western Health Reform Institute founded by Ellen White) and his brother, W. K. Kellogg, worked as the bookkeeper. This is where corn flakes were created and led to the eventual formation of the Kellogg Company.”

This is where all Sox fans are eventually headed…the Asylum of Loons.  We’ve become part of the Beauty & the Beast storyline, minus the villagers storming JR’s exec suite with pitchforks candlesticks knives and armoires.

This is only true for Chicago teams. Other teams with awful situations routinely show the power of holding only one of thirty highly desired jobs trumps it.

The dolphins were a mess and then hire one of the best offensive minds. The orioles were a joke and pull the Houston front office.

The Sox are a joke and need to hire a guy who just pulled off the worst rebuild in baseball to replace the guy who pulled off the third worst.

Bob nightingale tho

I tend to think this report is true, but it is really odd.

It would imply that Jerry has been having these conversations prior to the termination eith someone like Moore. It also just feels like a weird fit. That said, who knows. Maybe Jerry is his buddy

Tony and others probably convinced him in Cooperstown a few weeks ago it’s time to make a change.  It’s an easy decision for Moore, I’m sure

You think Jerry just came to his decision yesterday, and has given no thought to who would replace Rick/Kenny? They said in the statement they expect someone in the position by the end of the season. That's like 40 days.

When Jerry fired KW/Rick yesterday, he 100% knew who would be replacing them.

Dayton Moore is a weirdo but he's certainly had more success than Hahn.

The problem with Getz is Hahn likes him. No idea what Getz would do if in charge, and the president hire is more important imo. Getz could be fine in the right spot, hard to say.

People say sox have no developmental stories and that's not really true.

He has but not much. 3 winning seasons as a GM/President from2007-2022. 9 times lost at least 90.
