I’m just sick of the fake morality people like to flaunt when they like a player vs when they don’t. I could not care less about Moore and I certainly don’t want him hired, but I base that on his record, not because he’s a Bible thumper.

It's less that he's Christian and more

  1. He expressed the opinion that a child molester should be given a chance to earn millions in baseball, when said child molester's family was warning everyone to stay the hell away from him
  2. That again
  3. That again
  4. That again
  5. That again
  6. He imposes his religion on everyone else in the org
  7. His tenure with the Royals has two lucky seasons and that's it

I'll help him out. It's not appropriate for ANY manager in ANY type of company.

There is a reason it wasn't mandatory for ML players to attend, because it goes against the CBA

But has he heard from TLR?  Or Nightengale?

It sounds like Nightengale was running with a bunch of nonsense. Maybe JR does ultimately choose him, but as of this point nothing is imminent like Bob’s tweets suggested. I think we can all take a breath and hope that an actual search takes place.

Do the blowup dolls also go against the CBA?  It's literally the same s%*# to each side looking at it from the outside.  It's all stupid.  Dude sucks at what he does, nothing else non baseball related even matters in that scenario.  He shouldn't be hired based on performance alone.  But then again, this is the Sox way

More than anything, I just want to see someone else be hired and make Boob look like a dumbass.

it's Getz and Moore

There's a reason it was announced the day of the firing that Grifol was safe for 2024: it's because they'd already spoken with the new GM and made it official in advance

The only reason KW and Hahn were fired was to virtue signal to the fan base that they're doing something different, when in reality they aren't changing anything at all, not a damn thing that would be considered a structural or philosophical change

Hopefully Sox fans aren't so naive to buy into this nonsense, I'm not

I want a full house cleaning. There's no evidence Getz has any particular skill at what he does. The Sox finished dead last in overall org minor league performance by run differential. The coaches, scouts, and everybody else responsible need to be broomed.

I don’t disagree at all…I’m just at the point where Click + Getz sounds better than Getz + Moore if those are many options

Then why share them?

Fun to stir to pot.

That didn’t come up until later in the conversation. Without looking further into it, that is definitely inexcusable s%*#. At first, it was about the porn stuff.

I thought the announcement on the day of the firing was that Grifol was safe for the rest of 2023, but no decisions beyond that at the time.

Nightengale also said on the Score that he expects them to interview a number of candidates besides Getz for the position, and that TLR wasn't a "consultant," per se, but more of a friend giving advice.

Until an official announcement is made, I'm keeping my fingers crossed that a decision has not yet been made and TLR isn't officially involved in any of this.

Exactly. He sucked at his job. No thank you.

I heard that interview on the Score as well. The hosts didn’t seem to believe it and neither do I.

The fact that TLR was already brought in as a consultant tells me all I need to know…it’s going to be a weak hire that is another puppet.

No up and coming GM with options is going to come and work under JR and have Tony’s stinky beer breathe down their neck.

I guess it depends on your definition of "consultant." The Sox have already said he is not on the payroll.

Ok well that’s better I guess…didn’t know that. But obviously there’s just no reason for him to be around in general. Don’t even want Tony having input on who the next GM should be

While I agree with what someone said above that Morosi sounded more like he was speculating rather than reporting what he heard, I certainly like the resume of someone like Mattingly.  He works for new-school Preller and learns about talent evaluation.  Then he works for the very successful, and old school, Dombrowski.  He's seen both sides.  Someone with that kind of experience should do a great job.

Rizzo certainly has had a lot of success, and towers over Moore, that the Nats fell so far off the cliff after winning does give me pause.
