I'm not adding anything to what Hayes said. Yes, Keaschall looks better than Vargas right now.

I think the Cease trade was good for what it was. Jury's out on the Fletcher and Barrios deals. The Vargas deal doesn't look good. Perez hit okay in A-ball. I'll wait to see what Vargas looks like next year. That whole trade looks like a rookie mistake, to me. Getz spent too much time putting it together for him to walk away.

Berroa/Santos?

No it doesn't. It spells clueless and also no one said anything against in the organization.  Were the Marlin trades worse? They have a rookie GM.

The grade for Getz so far is WTF.   A real organization would fire someone for that trade or move them away from doing anymore harm.  This is the White Sox and do we ever have low expectations.

Our wizard GM thought he was getting two starters in Fletcher and Vargas and they are bad bench players.  A rookie mistake?  The guy supposedly listened to his assistant GM and an assistant hitting coach that he fired a week later for both trades.  Getz is an epic failure.

And refused to start Fletcher for most of this season.

That's the other thing. He's playing Dejong and Lopez and Pham....and letting the young guys rot. He wasn't playing for 110 losses.  That was one of the many BS parts of what he and JR have to say.

Yeah, they most of this year like they were "trying" to win.  Kids didn't get played primarily until after the roster was turned over after the trade deadline.  They were running guys like you mentioned, plus other horrible players like Maldonado out there on a daily basis even when it was obvious they were horrible and had nothing to lose by moving on.

I'm  less inclined for a change than I was six months ago. I think he's having a good of season reimagining the organization. Now we'll see if he's hiring good people to fill those spots.

Never should have been hired in the first place and he hired a guy who had never managed before so the book is still out on him.  Easy to buy out Moncada when JR is cutting costs.  What else has he done?  Getz still blows.  Fire him.

Making good hires on paper is fantastic. But he still assembled the worst team in modern baseball history believing it would be an improvement on the 101 loss team he took over. There is no sugarcoating how historically bad his roster decisions have been. He never should have been hired, and should have been fired at numerous points over the past year. His ineptitude will be forever etched in the record books, and nothing will ever erase that.

He seems to be putting processes and departments in place that did not previously exist. Seems like he is at least trying to pull Jerry into how other teams are ran. Don’t know if it’ll work but it’s something.

Seems that it’s something anyone else could do better and more efficiently.

He’s getting credit for his organizational hires even though his roster moves have been terrible from the start.  God forbid we have a GM that can do both well, but we don’t.  Sox fans have been beaten down by a terrible owner to have low expectations.

Hopefully he gets the talent evaluation hires right, because we are doomed if we follow the last year trends.

They haven’t had an outside GM since Ron Schueler, who built a top notch minor league system.  He must have convinced Reinsdorf of something.

Schueler lived off of the system that Larry Himes was putting together when JR fired Himes...Schu didn't do that on his own...but he did a decent job of sustaining it without successful 1st round picks.

Also the game/data was much different then. Once everything became about analytics is when the Sox have been horrible, which it SEEMS like Getz is trying to drag JR into to.

The press conference introducing Venable was absolutely gross… Specifically Getz.

He said he was “proud of what we have accomplished in the last year.”

Dude.

I literally laughed out loud and couldn't take the rest of that circle jerk seriously after that.  It was the worst season in the history of modern baseball.   I really don't want to hear more lies.

Notice how he looked up before saying it… classic tell of a liar.
