Takes the ball every five days and gives you a chance.  Only Clevinger does the same.  Touki tries.  Cease and Kopech?  Tail end of the rotation inconsistency. But I think Cease has tweaked something in his arm.

Scholtens is pretty similar to where Touki was a month ago, a 4.15 ERA and a 4.92 FIP. His numbers have come out a bit lucky which is always possible when you’ve thrown 65 innings coming into today. Same performance next year and you’ll be saying Scholtens tries.

Turned it off before it was over. What happened?

Sosa got doubled off on a shallow fly ball to CF.  Was a catch any CF makes.  Him and Benetti were saying it was a fitting end, and Stoney just quickly said early game tomorrow in a very pissed off tone.

You would think after all this time they would have brought in a specific instructor to work with all the young Latin American players...seems to be a CONSTANT theme in terms of lacking fundamentals when they are called up to the big leagues.

Definitely seems that Charlie Montoyo isn't filling in this particular role...well, in theory he's the bench coach.

This would be a totally different coaching role.

Colas, Sosa, Popeye Rodriguez, Quero, Ramos, etc.

I was in my car when it was 1-1. I listened as the Sox got boatraced late. The Orioles announcers were talking about how relentless an offensive attack they have. Then they mentioned 3 stud hitters in the minors who will be ready soon. The announcer said, 'It's good to be an Orioles fan right now.' Meanwhile on the south side ... lol. Pathetic non competitive team with nothing to look forward to. Congrats Jerry. Your team went from the top in 05 to this. Possibly the worst franchise and worse outlook in all of baseball.

I know @CaliSoxFanViaSWside was interested prior to the Williams Hahn firing of Kenny Williams Jr. role with the team.

On the James Fox podcast, they stated Kenny Williams Jr. was reassigned this season to the role of special assistant to the EVP, i.e. Kenny Williams, and is or will be out now that Kenny is gone.

or Getz fired him. 6 one half dozen the other I guess.

How could he when they don’t know who he is?

Firing Hahn and Kenny after the deadline was stupid. Either let the clowns finish the season and do a real search for a real GM after the season, or fire their asses in April/May and hire a real GM among the more limited out of a current job pool.

The Sox regularly make the worst decision possible, many times unfathomable, such as the TLR hire, and Thursday the Getz hire.

It was all a set-up, Kenny was retiring anyway, and Hahn simply had to go because JR let Kenny retire instead of watching this mess any longer.  JR and Kenny made up their minds to promote Getz and to stay within the family.  What a fxxxing joke this team is.  Tonight we got to watch Sosa one of Getz's star players think bunting for a hit was a good idea there tonight in that situation.  I find it hard to watch anymore.

Daryl Boston can teach them how to not get caught

Isn't Daryl Boston both under the first base coach (baserunning Sosa) and also coaches OFers defensively (Colas)?

He has never been held accountable for anything.

That may be the case now, but they were talking about before last week, KW Jr. was transferred earlier this year to be an assistant to his dad, a change from his prior role in player development.

About what specifically?

Bullpen?  Defense?  Giving up/no more fight?

Livid? He surely knows he’s broadcasting games except for a few guys, a AAA team.

Does Getz have any idea what he’s getting into. Where does he start unless Reinsdork gives him a huge budget to sign premier free agents otherwise we are in for a long arduous rebuild.

The definition of arduous is ...when unable to draft players, trade players, or sign free agents.

Huh.

It's almost as if there should be some teams that players play on before they get to the big leagues.

On those teams, you can have players learn (and be taught) how to baseball.

Maybe our new GM / head of Baseball Ops can bring something like that to life.

See Rusty Kuntz

See Ron Washington

See Tom Emanski

Who was that new age coaching guru we brought in for just one year...and it blew up spectacularly?  About 2-3 seasons ago?
