WOW 26 men from around the world, in ages from their early 20s to late 30s, some married,  some with kids, some single,  some dating with wife and kids, don't hang together all the time.

SHOCKING!!

This. Articles and discussions about clubhouse culture are lazy and bullshit.

You know what will improve the White Sox? 25 new and better players to complement Luis Robert Jr.. You know what Chris Getz is going to do? Not acquire and or develop 25 new and better players. Will be lucky to have a handful.

Personally, I expect Brian Shaw and Lenyn Sosa to have sleepovers.

The 1970 106 loss team improved by 23 games in 1971 but there is no way we will see a repeat of that unless our illustrious owner opens up the checkbook and signs a bunch of premier free agents and Getz is able to get someone of value in trading Anderson, Moncada and Eloy.

The overall free agent class this off season is a poor one.

It is impossible to sign premier free agents in 2023 unless you go long term.

Reinsdorf has proved he will not go long term.

So there will be no repeat of 1971.

In fact Reinsdorf has not signed a premier free agent since 1997 and even then he got out of the last two years because he didn't want to pay them.

I don't know why other teams would trade someone of value for Anderson, Moncada, and Jimenez.  Maybe there are other GMs dumber than Getz.  That's what you have to hope for.

Then we’re screwed.

Jerry already violated the CBA by commenting on Ohtani, laughing that of course his cheap dumb ass would never consider signing the premier free agent. Jerry rather lose 100 games again.

Here is a link to the 2024 FAs.

Hopefully they won’t sign a third worthless “Highest Signed White Sox” as they did with Grandal and Benintendi.

The Sox will always be first in line for a player where other organizations have that ? of value.

Face it the Sox best scouting is often the dumpster dive. Kenny and Hahn seemed to be good at that.

Kenny maybe.

I think Hahn’s only talent was signing the occasional good contract.  But that suffered in recent years with Jimenez and Grandal and Benitendi being a couple good good examples of poor contracts.

The team is profitable so I wouldn't say those contracts were bad. They can easily continue to pay these salaries. During the strike most everyone was arguing for lower profits and higher player salaries.

The bigger issue is every year there are only a couple low risk free agents. The rest carry varrying and increasing levels of risk based on age, injury, or intangibles.
