Milkman delivers
I’ll be rooting for the Rangers, Brewers, or Rays to win it. They’ve never won it. I won’t be upset if the Blue Jays, Twins, Diamondbacks, Marlins, Phillies, Braves, or Orioles take it. I just don’t want the Astros or Dodgers. LittleHurtCG
Ouch. Tampa Bay shut out at home in game 1. Tampa may have blown its wad back in April and May with that unbeliavable start. Their current lineup scares no one.

Get that team the heck out of Florida. I'd love to get the Rays on the South Side with their ownership and ship Jerry's Sox to Vegas or contract them. You can trace that back to the Dan Marino era.

They deserved to lose wearing Devil Ray jerseys to start the playoffs, those jerseys suck. They sucked when they wore them regularly. Wish I noticed that before the game, definitely would have bet against them. Didn't they get rid of "Devil" for some PC mumbo-jumbo? They have a cool looking alternate.. Or maybe they can just cut the bullshit extra rounds of playoffs, contract Oakland and Pittsburgh, possibly Tampa and Miami, and have a seven game LCS (Baltimore vs. Houston and Atlanta vs. Los Angeles), followed by a mid October World Series. This plan worked for decades, now there are far fewer TV viewers and record low playoff attendance, with dumb plans to build a new stadium where nobody wants to go. I think you’re in the minority on this one. Any White Sox fan from 1951-67 didn’t benefit from only one postseason appearance and the Yankees/Brooklyn Dodgers in the WS every other season while the Sox averaged roughly a 90 win pace per year. And wouldn’t your argument also hold true for the NBA playoff expansion? The common belief is that exposing baseball teams to more series adds randomness…whereas “fluke” championship series winners (like wild card teams) have been few and far between and still revolved around a couple of superstar players carrying teams on most occasions. Baseball has become more regional (except for the top 6-7 famous brands…including the Braves now), whereas NFL and NBA have become increasingly international brands. Of course, there’s the exception of the WBC…particularly the Pacific Rim countries as well as Mexico City and northern Mexico (area perceived as too dangerous for a franchise at current time). Agree most people are fine or don't care about the degradation of the "Championship 162 game season", accustomed to taking anything handed to them, be it in sports, corporations, "leaders", etc.. Don't agree weakening standards leads to improving the postseason. The Sox only deserved one postseason because they only finished in first once. If you are not good enough to win a 4,5,6,7,8,10 team division, one to four playoff weeks shouldn't render six months irrelevant. The Yankees proved over 154/162 games they earned the right of the World Series. With 12-16 team leagues, I would concede two divisions which worked well from 1969-1993, when the game was most popular via TV and cultural dominance. Less people cared about the NFL than MLB until the 1970s/1980s. I don't agree with any playoff expansion. Should be max two conferences / two playoff rounds (Conference Finals & Championship) contested solely by division winners. MLB is closer to the NHL in terms of random results (Goalie / Pitcher Hot), with the difference an NHL Goalie can play every game and a starter only twice in a series. NBA can win with the best player and a few extra pieces, NFL with the best QB, NHL with hottest goalie. No equivalent to MLB, plus key player limited to a minority of games (starting pitchers). 2019 Nationals, 2014 Giants, 2011 Cardinals, 2004 Red Sox, 2003 Marlins, 2002 Angels and 1997 Marlins couldn't win a 4-5 team division, but are "World Champions"? Child please is my response, understand I'm in the minority. Baseball became regional because of severe mismanagement of the sport based on short term greed over long term stead. Should be a solid international brand beyond the garbage preseason WBC money scheme.
