ApplingsRevenge
Guillen is NOT telling FT s***, Guillen's mouth is already old. I'll admit that I'm worried that there will be problems between Thomas & Guillen (the Guillen ridiculing Thomas when they played together for taking grounders at short comes to mind). I think JR's pick was hired, and I think that sends a message to everyone (Thomas included) that the sometime lethargy surrounding the team 2001-present will not be tolerated. Wish they woulda announced Ozzie sooner. That way if Frank didn't like the new rules, he coulda opted out. Ya know what I always say to Frank, if you don't like it here, OPT OUT. He keeps his Hall of Famer around and gets the manager he wants. I just want them to get along, and if that means Frank doing the little things, he should listen. I don't see Frank listening to anyone. He's one of the most selfish specimens in the world. In fact, to an extent he's even rubbed off on some of the other members of the Sox. It's all good in theory what Ozzie said today, but unless he cracks the whip on the Big Skirt, it's all just hot air. I'm not expecting anything different from Frank until he shows something different. The chances of that are not good. We are stuck with him and I do mean STUCK with him in the worst way possible. greg775
I love the hire, but remember it's mostly about the players. Look at Trammell's disaster in Detroit. This could happen to Oz if we give him s*** to work with. Manuel at least had us in the .500 range. We need to stay there and with attitude and hunger finish 20 over .500 and win division somehow. Cleveland has to now be the frontrunners in the AL Central after signing Mark Wohlers and Jason Bere today!
YASNY
Steff, please don't let this incident stop you from posting what info you can. Some of us appreciate it very much, and also know that things change so even an informed tip can eventually turn out to be proven wrong. Cito had the job on Thursday. In an additional "phone interview" before he made his definite vacation plans he made comments to KW and JR that the Sox must spend more $$. Requested a $10 to $15 million increase in salary at which time the line went silent. When that call ended, Cito finalized his vacation plans. All about $$ guys.. all about $$. Ya know what I always say to Frank, if you don't like it here, OPT OUT. As involved as JR was in the hiring process, and as much as JR loves Frank, I am sure that Frank knew what was going on every single step of the way.
