How are people still thinking it made sense roster-wise to bring back Abreu?

I'd rather have Abreu retire as a White Sox for life than the failed free agents they wasted funds on. They should have purged or never acquired Eloy, Sheets, Vaughn, Grandal and others rather than keep them all and purge their MVP.

Luke Appling is the only top White Sox position player to complete his career with the Chicago White Sox. This is why the organization is held in such low regard both on and off the field over the past century plus.

Top All Time White Sox bWAR position players:

  1. 77.5 Luke Appling (1930-1950) - Lifelong White Sox
  2. 68.3 Frank Thomas (1990 - 2005) - Disgracefully chased away and insulted by Kenny Williams
  3. 66.8 Eddie Collins (1915-1926) - Started & ended career with the Philadelphia Athletics.
  4. 47.4 Nellie Fox (1950-1963) - First three years with Philadelphia, finished career with Houston.
  5. 41.4 Minnie Minoso (1951-1957, 1960-1961, 1964, 1976, 1980) Acquired in 1951, traded a few stints.
  6. 39.4 Robin Ventura (1989-1998) - Dumped by Jerry to finish 6th in MVP voting following season.
  7. 35.3 Luis Aparicio (1956-1962 &1968-1970) - Another player to leave for MVP contention elsewhere.
  8. 33.2 George Davis (1902, 1904-1909) - Played into his 30s with the Giants before arriving for a WS here.
  9. 33.1 Ray Schalk (1912-1928) - Dumped to play one more year, starting Sox tradition of dumping HOFers.
  10. 32.0 Fielder Jones (1901-1908) - Started with Brooklyn, rejoined the Federal League in 1914.
  11. 31.8 Jose Abreu (2014-2022) - Smug Rick Hahn all but kicked his ass out the door, spent the $ on Benintendi.

Hope Jose wins and enjoys multiple World Series before retiring. He deserves all the success in the world.

Did that called third strike look as bad on TV as it did on Gameday? Need robotic strike calls OD 2024.

Yes it was half a foot outside. The ump missed an obvious strike 3 on Maldonado to lead the inning off too. I guess you can call it even.

Completely disagree. Overreaction.

It was so obviously intentional. And the Astros really don't get the benefit of the doubt cause it's not the first time they've done something like this against the Rangers.

Honestly, I don’t care if it’s intentional as long as it’s not at the head. It’s an emotional game. If they want to give a free runner in this case, take it, and move on. Maybe remember it next year.
