I wonder if the Sox are on plan B or C or D right now. Didn't someone write an announcement was expected a couple of weeks ago? Either they are getting rebuffed or want to make it look like they scorched all ends of the earth and realized the best replacement is the cheapest in Connor McKnight.

Maybe for a normal organization, but these schmoes have shown they don’t really care about those optics when it comes to hires.

Seems Monaco didn't come as easily as expected...McKnight or Beckham would be demoralizing in different ways.

McKnight being too peppy in the face of a miserable season....Beckham too cocksure and every other sentence being about those professional at-bats that he could never even come up with as a player.

Beckham is an analyst. It’s not even the same job

You can't give McKnight the job.  He's not ready...even for a team nobody's going to pay attention to.

And there's no way Stone is going to survive for more than one more season of Grifol Ball.

Beckham will get a  JB eventually...he won't rock the boat, just like Getz.

Ed Wood in the dugout to replace Pedro. Just might work.

Too bad Kasper wants radio only. He’s better at TV, IMO.

No, I only have radio (even bars mostly have Sox games on mute with music) and love the Len and DJ pairing.

They have more leeway telling it like it is with Jerry owning CSN but not WMVP. They still can’t go Jimmy and Harry, since Jerry has final say each year. DJ went ballistic that May 5th Reds game when TLR didn’t know the rules.

We lost Len too many radio broadcasts with Jason and even some Stone vacation days last year. Several games there was just Len, with DJ off with I believe a medical issue near the end of the season.

I hope whoever they get on TV covers most of the season, so we get to keep Len Kasper. His voice took to getting used to, but got into his broadcasts after a brief adjustment and very happy he left Marquee (like CSN, seemingly another workplace to avoid) to work for the Sox. Hope he doesn’t also flee for Detroit, his hometown club.

Len on Bass, Matt Speigel with vocals.

This wouldn’t surprise me. The org can’t walk and chew gum at the same time without tripping over their own feet.

At this point I wouldn’t expect an announcement until late January or early February right before pitchers & catchers report. Give fans less time to be upset before baseball starts up again. Not that they give a s%*# about making fans happy.

Didn't see this posted. Zach covers the Cubs Pre/Post Game for the Score. He did Bears work over the years, not sure if he is still involved on that end.

In related news, the Sox have confirmed that they are in negotiations with wfmt to be their new radio affiliate.

Zaidman is like that viral clip a decade ago from John Mayer of a man whose never watched baseball announcing the action.

Yeah, I don't think he's actually an announcer. He just fills in for like an inning for Pat Hughes.

It would be like if Chuck started calling innings/games.

Whatever search they are doing for the new TV PBP job, it would be such a classic white sox organizational move to sign the new individual to only a one year contract ( coinciding with 2024 being the final year of the team’s deal with NBC Sports Chicago), then decide in 2025 that the television broadcast will be a simulcast of the radio broadcast.

I do hope Len isn’t the next one to bolt, whether to Detroit or elsewhere, including the northside team whenever Pat retires. I only wish he would adapt more to radio style PBP, especially with repeating the count ahead of the next pitch (i.e. “here’s the 2 and 1 pitch to Vaughn” instead of his habit formed “the pitch”). That aside, I do like Len’s overall call of the game on the ESPN 1000 Hardrock Casino whitesox Network.
