ron883
@Chicago White Sox find any Yankees forum yet? They all look pretty dead. Reddit fucking blows too, so I'm not going there. It disappoints me that dogshit reddit has overtaken the superior, old school forum-style like this place. Cease for Woo + prospects is about the only thing I can come up with, but they don't need pitching. They have plenty of quality young arms and are in desperate need of legit bats. fathom
Lots of articles out there that Yankees are interested in Snell. Jack Curry, who is as good as it gets with Yankees info, didn’t mention Cease from what I can see.
Sports Guy
11 minutes ago, Bob Sacamano said: They have an aggressive GM who’s always dealing. I wouldn’t be shocked. I guess I should do a better job of explaining what I meant. The Mariners have reportedly been all over the idea of needing offense this offseason. The pieces that have been rumored to be dealt is pitching…Woo, Miller, Hancock. Some thought that Gilbert could be available but not likely. The WS have valued pitching in some deals. We don’t know if that’s their biggest priority but it has been. If they are trading Cease to the Mariners, likely Woo, Miller or Hancock would be in the deal…but why would they trade pitching to get pitching? There is also some thought that they need to cut payroll because, like so many other teams, they have some RSN issues. So, I find it hard to believe that they would trade young cheap pitching for more expensive pitching. Now,..if the WS value other guys and are willing to take Ford as the best player and not any of those pitchers, I guess it’s possible but that still ignores the money aspect of things. I also doubt they would be looking to move their best offensive prospect on a team starved for offense but acknowledge that it’s possible. It just doesn’t add up to me. What does add up is if Seattle is the third team…if they send Woo or Miller to the WS, Cease to the Os and players to the Ms(could be tons of combinations there). But if that’s the case, I wonder if the Os would rather have Woo/Miller or Cease? Edited January 5 by Sports Guy

Every team cares to some extent. If they don’t care, they wouldn’t have sat out on a lot of other free agents over past few years. It’s a lazy statement to say they don’t care. If you drop off his horrid start he’s a 3.5 ERA starter last year and in the 3.2-3.3 range. Right now he’s their 3rd starter and be counted on for 30 starts. I’m not counting on Means due to health and Wells has been excellent for half a season two straight years. But I really feel like a starter is needed. Personally I’m trying to make a deal with the Mariners for a young controllable starter and agree Cease to the Yankees is better for you guys. Woo is the only guy I could see the M's trading. They need a 3B or RF. What do you think is a fair trade?

Yankees were like 10th or 11th. The Red Sox & Giants were both pretty low. I still don’t get the Mariners fit, but the more the merrier. The had the $$ to poach a few known media names, but they're a gloried blog basically. Thats not a knock, but they're on the outside looking in like the rest of us.
