What are the other options here exactly? He realizes he's a dead man walking and will not try to save his job.

Why would he do that? lol Sounds like he would have nothing to lose then if he's a dead man walking. Snowy Demon
Will Cease, Rodon, Cortez, Stroman rotation be enough to overtake the Orioles if Cole is out for an extended time? I am not sure if Tampa has enough pitching after this offseason although they do seem to find a way. Toronto is always a difficult team to figure out.

DirtySox
Speaking of the Rangers, I don't love that system outside of Carter/Langford/Walcott. And there's no chance Carter and Langford are on the table. I think the Sox match up much better with NY. Bob Sacamano
Nah let him make the start. If teams are coming back, let him showcase one more time/. Plus, nothing may be even close to imminent so no point skipping.
ChiliIrishHammock24
I'm really hoping Cease got scratched tonight, most just because it might indicate a trade, but if they are deep into discussions with anyone the Sox should take all precautions and protect their asset. If he pitches tonight then that would indicate to me that nothing is close. 2

MiddleCoastBias
With Cease scheduled to pitch today, we get the rare Spring Training dugout #hugwatch usually reserved for the trade deadline. 1

Let him get his 3 innings in and call it a day. Edited March 12 by Bob Sacamano

Soxfest
Yankees act like Jones is best OF prospect ever. Jones is not even ranked in top 10 OF prospects. No Jones no deal. Not taking Yankee table scraps for Cease. Edited March 12 by Soxfest

T R U
Barring an injury, it really doesn't matter what Cease does tonight. Its not like the Yankees are going to see him pitch 2 inning, give up 2 runs, and only K one guy and say "Actually, this guy stinks".
