I'm not claiming to be a source but I'm hearing that a package centered around Ohtani and Betts with 500 million headed to Chicago is being floated for Dylan Cease.

Just getting that out there, again, not claiming to be a source.

Just as long as we don't waste TLRs leftover stash, all good.

You don’t like Arias?

I like him.  But he's a back 1/2er (of the top100), right?  I like another one of their SS too.
But, you know, the idea is to get the guys who will be there tomorrow, even if they aren't yet there today. He may be top 30 in a year.

The strategy is so pathetically obvious, I can’t believe people beg these supposed “insiders” for any morsel of news that they more than likely don’t have.  They throw out some short vague bullshit that will only ever make them look like they have sources but it never includes enough details that they will ever be truly wrong.

A bunch of wannabe KatyPerryBootyholes if you ask me!

Peavy initial trade and Danks extension

Peavy trade ended up being okay.  Prospects we traded didn't do much and we flipped him for Avi and Montas. (not that we got a whole lot out of them).
Of course, we withheld our top pitching prospect from the Peavy trade, but then traded him next summer for E Jackson and his 5+ ERA

I'm not corroborating this, I'm just sharing it. I haven't heard anything myself.

#91 on FG....RHH....far from MLB.

No.

And the rest of the package doesn't matter much if they are all going to ve worse than the headliner.

If other teams don't want to make serious offers just keep holding him.

Reading through trades of that era is so depressing. Jason Frasor, Zach Stewart, Myles Jaye (the late) Daniel Webb. Nestor Molina, Jhan Mariñez. It's almost like we had zero ability to scout baseball players to find a guy whose talent wasn't being maximized. Or we could, but had no idea how to develop them.

To think of the time I spent holding up Baseball America's scouting report on Simon Castro with one hand...

Clearly the $500M is the money needed toward the new park at The 78.

Can someone just please put a muzzle on Grifol, he’s insanely bad with talking to the media…

Points for honesty, lol?   Looks like he is totally out of the loop here, which you might not want to communicate to the entire world

OR your own players who are supposed to trust you, ideally.

Should have gone to Montoyo for a quote.  Seems almost nobody in the media ever tries to talk to him.  Narron was simply known for his scorecard script, considering both guys were former big league managers, but whatever.
