That’s a good point.  With this market, it’s possible he gets much more than I’m anticipating which is around 5/$40M (which is already a gamble).

Also might be with Colas likely on the way out and Grandal history...with Moncada going in that direction, Vera scuffling with injuries, that they are reassessing the ROI on the Cuban Connection.

At least for the type of money being bandied about for these starting pitchers.

Obviously they brought in Cousin...but that was the very bottom of the market.

What direction Getz can go in to make his own personal imprint is unknown...other than speed defense athleticism.

If that's the case they should  sign Kiermaier for the OF on the cheap.

I mentioned the Phillies a while back. They could offer a great package but they have a solid five man rotation already, iirc.

Wheeler, Walker, Nola, Suarez, and Sanchez. The first four are obvious, and Sanchez broke out as a starter last year.

Not sure I’d pencil Walker in there….def not at #2. He didn’t touch the field in the playoffs and he also had some negative comments about the team in the media after the season. Wouldn’t surprise if he wasn’t on the team.

I didn't put them in order, he'd probably be #4. I doubt he isn't with them this season but I suppose it's possible. Tough to give up a dude who made 31 starts and pitched 170 innings in this era.
