77 Hitmen
Jimmy Carter, the 39th President of the United States, has died at age 100. He lived longer than any other POTUS and also had the longest post-presidency (which would have been 44 years in a few weeks). And he certainly made the most of his life after leaving the White House. https://www.cnn.com/politics/live-news/jimmy-carter-death-news-12-29-24/index.html
Texsox
There are only a couple of politicians in my lifetime that I truly believed were selfless and put their constituents first. He was a statesman and walked the talk. I wish we had more leaders with his integrity.

The Mighty Mite
Gene Hackman who won 2 Academy Awards and one of my all time favorite actors has passed at age 95. His wife and dog were also found dead in their home, authorities say no foul play so maybe a gas leak or even suicide. IMHO The French Connection is the best cop movie ever with Bullitt a close second. “You still picking your feet in Poughkeepsie?” Edited February 27 by The Mighty Mite

Milkman delivers
The Gene Hackman thing is so sad. He has three kids, from what I’ve read. How do you have a 95-year-old parent with Alzheimer’s, and you don’t check in on them regularly. Yikes.

Expand They were apparently very reclusive and they liked their privacy but I can’t believe they didn’t have paid caretakers/assistants. Hackman’s wife would take care of him and her dogs. She would pick up special dog food from the vet. Just seems a bit ridiculous when your net worth is $83.8 million.
