fathom
Their bullpen is incredible now. This was the move I thought the Cubs should have made.
chw42
That is an insane amount of money for a closer. Houston doesn't even need him, Pressly was fine last year.
almagest
Definitely a different Astros org than we're used to. Pressly was a solid closer for them but now moves into a high leverage role, or occasional closer if tough righties are due up.
chw42
It honestly feels like Rick Hahn is the GM of the Astros now lol

Balta1701
I am surprised at Houston pushing farther into the tax, they have constantly suggested this offseason that they were using that as a major impediment. This has to have been motivated by Graveman being out, that took like 2 days.
SoxAce
Just what that unlikable team needs. An unlikable player. Match made in heaven.
caulfield12
$7 million less than Edwin Diaz in total dollars. He didn't quite get his $100 million due to slightly diminished stuff and two really erratic swings in 2022/23 with Milwaukee and SD but generally very solid numbers overall. Also struggled a bit in tie situations...not all that unusual as everyone who follows baseball knows. That's often the case, especially on the road. Sports Guy
Wow…a contract completely out of the norm for Houston. (At least FA wise)

Mattress Mack probably just put a $20 million bet on Houston to win the 2024 WS

Edwin Diaz doesn't have the same amount of dominant years piled up.
