Bighurt52235
http://chicago.whitesox.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb...t3=1&statSet2=2 I think this is a total error, but the site has Frank listed as a pitcher on his defensive charts for 99'. Apparently, he didn't throw any pitches, but allowed two stolen bases. This is just an error, correct? edit: This link doesn't work, click on the one a few posts down. witesoxfan
I've seen it before too, so I know what BigHurt is talking about. I don't think he pitched though. The guy can't throw from 1B to 2B without throwing it away, how the hell is he gonna pitch? It'd be funny as hell to watch though
TLAK
Bighurt52235 Posted on Nov 4 2003, 05:05 PM http://chicago.whitesox.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb...t3=1&statSet2=2 I think this is a total error, but the site has Frank listed as a pitcher on his defensive charts for 99'. Apparently, he didn't throw any pitches, but allowed two stolen bases. This is just an error, correct? It's certainly there in MLB.com stats but its gotta be an error. I cross checked it with BaseBall Reference and they don't have it. I think some of us would remember if Big Frank ever pitched, plus JM would have been out of here in 1999. Bighurt52235
Thank you Spiff for posting that. Even if that is true, he did never PITCH. It doesn't have record of him delivering a single pitch. Scenario: We're losing 35-0, Big Frank takes the mound with man on first. He strides the rubber. He falls asleep! The runner makes it all the way to third before someone can rouse Frank. JM decides he doesn't want a pitcher who can't stay awake, regardless of the score, and Frank is removed before throwing one pitch.
Bighurt52235
I just noticed this, and has him down with 6 "AO's" does anyone know what an AO is?
TLAK
AO = Fly out. MLB just has a garbage record in the database.

I don't think anyone would forget someone like Frank pitching. Also, it would never be a superstar pitching. No risl of injuries. It would have been someone a little less important. It is just ugly to see fielders pitch. I remember Boggs and Grace pitching, some good stuff.
Nokona
I don't think he pitched though. The guy can't throw from 1B to 2B without throwing it away, how the hell is he gonna pitch? Thirty feet makes SO much difference.

He hurt his arm and got his manager, Kevin Kennedy, fired!
