ESPN tells: Bears draft intentions

with the 4th pick espn said the bears had planned to replace a-train with mcgahee and then were gonna go and get dave ragone in the 2nd round, but now with no mcgahee they dont know what to do with their 1st pick, and dont think larry johnson is worth the 4th pick. So it looks the bears may have another screwed draft yet again.

WHY the Bears would go and waste 4th Overall pick with ANOTHER RB confuses me. We keep drafting them and they keep going wrong so we might as well settle with both A-Trains we have( Thomas and Peterson). I think if Ragone could drop to the 2nd round he would be a great pick up for the future since he has shown he can play at Louisville. I think a DB would good be a good choice with the fourth pick since Detriot and Texans will go with RBs or WRs and the Bengals will draft a nobody or possibly Palmer.

Well, McGahee was a complete stud before his injury. Why would you pass him up?

Now that he's hurt, you'll have your choice of Palmer or Byron.

Well, Texans are going to try to trade down, so if the Bears intentionally leaked this it would make some sense. Make teams think you were looking a rb and are going to take a qb later, maybe it stops them from dealing up ahead of you with the Texans to take Leftwich.

Right now I could really see the Bears take Suggs are whatever the guy out of ASU's name is.

Angelo really does like Rigone and isn't high on Palmer.

I think we end up dealing down in the first round, for someone who wants to make us an offer we can't refuse for Leftwich.

that was the impression i got reading an article about the bears this morning. i believe it was in either chicago newspaper. jerry was hinting that the biggest need was at qb esp with miller having surgery.

QB, is the biggest need. However, whoever the Bears do get won't play. Jauron has to win or he'll be canned, so he's gonna play ol' busta ass Miller.

i have always said that miller was a very good qb and the bears didn't need to address that position. i am now saying that i was totally off base on that assessment. i was wrong. miller gets hurt way too much and we need to address that position. what jerry a is going to do in the draft is beyond me, but if we can get a great future qb i am for it, however that position is like shooting craps. its all a gamble.

this yr draft, for me is going to be a total unknow factor.

I'm not a Bears fan but Jim Miller Sucks balls either way hurt or not. Even when they are or were winning, they weren't a dynamic pass offence or even any kind of offence. Never in his long and crappy career has jim Miller done anything more than hand the ball off 35 tims a game and pass to TEs RBs and short recievers, that is not good enough unless those 35 handoffs are really good.

this is typical of bears draft practices throughout the years...trade down a high pick or wait to the 2nd round to get a substandard QB instead of taking the very best available...we havent had a real QB since sid luckman...you would think if a talent like leftwich is on the board it would be a no brainer for a franchise that has been QB - LESS for almost 60 years now

i just got the new issue of espn, and atleast i think i read this in there, but they said the bengals wont invest in another high round qb after busting on klinger and akili. Then the texans and lions are set with young guys and they wont so they predict palmer will fall to the bears who should get him and i agree, then try and get a good defender 2nd round maybe luckily doss would fall or we could take a chance on larry johnson if they want to.
