Their strategy of throwing the majority of the pool $ at "advanced" Cuban players didn't work, and we know they don't play in the deep end for the high end teenage talent either. I will say that Paddy definitely helped bring the department back from the depths of hell post-scandal.
PolishPrince34
It’s really sad how we haven’t developed a key player since Ordonez and Lee. No other organization in the last 20 plus years comes close to it except maybe Baltimore but that has changed quickly in such short period with Elias putting the resources in the international spending and development. Autumn Dreamin
Quote Zach Franklin is a righthanded reliever in the White Sox system with a low-three quarters, almost sidearm slot, creating a difficult plane of approach for hitters to get flush barrel contact against. He has worked exclusively out of the Winston-Salem bullpen this season and has generated a ton of whiffs against his fastball. The pitch matches above-average vertical break from a 69.7 inch release height with a high rate of spin efficiency. These elements combined with mid-90s velocity allow the pitch to really play up. Chicago White Sox
Didn’t know where to put this, but since the 4th of July (80 PA sample) Bryan Ramos has been on fire: 133 wRC+ | 12.5% BB rate | 15.0% K rate | .258 ISO | .280 BABIP Kid doesn’t turn 23 until next March. This minor league season has been incredibly tough on the positional side, but it’s probably important to remind ourselves that him and Montgomery are super young for AAA and could in theory do another full season there and still reach the majors as fresh 24 year old’s. 3

GreenSox
Elko's college numbers, while not at Vaughn's 1200-1300 OPS level, were certainly the equal of early round picks Burger and Sheets. Autumn Dreamin
Excellent thread on Quero below. I recommend reading it in full, but the main takeaways: He's made a swing adjustment to lift and pull more, leading to both better results (HR, SLG) and also underlying metrics (EV, HH%, HR/FB%) He's producing as well as he has despite being younger than the opposing pitcher for a ridiculous 98.5% of his pro ABs 1
