He was 19 when drafted in 2021, so he would need to be added by next offseason (4 years). But he'll be on the roster long before then anyway.

Thanks. Someone here suggested they call him up to give him a taste of what he is working for this offseason and I thought the only way I would consider that is if he needed to be added to the 40-man in a couple of months (I wouldn't name him the OD starter for next year and I would make him earn a callup next April still so the service time wouldn't matter).

Since that is not the case, don't add him.

Edit: actually, since this organization/MLB level is a circus, maybe best to just leave him down for that reason anyway.

2025 is this offseason. He needs to be added this winter, but it’s fine cuz the Sox will have about 20 spots in search of upgrade.

Let's hear some noise for Sean Burke. Had his second good start in as many tries against

the Padres today. Injuries and wildness have held him back until now. He really does have

a plus arm. Keep up the good work Sean.

He was hitting 97-98 MPH , and got K's with 4 pitches, 4 seam FB, slider, CU, and curve.

Didn't seem to throw as many curves as he did his 1st start.Leaned on 4 seam up in the zone and slider and both were crisp but also got a couple K's on the CU and curve. Very impressive and well see more of him in the the  upcoming AFL league since he's coming back from  injuries.

White Sox (Glendale):

  • Colson Montgomery, SS (No. 2/MLB No. 25)
  • Grant Taylor, RHP (No. 6)
  • Peyton Pallette, RHP (No. 27)
  • Eric Adler, RHP
  • Andrew Dalquist, RHP
  • Tim Elko, 1B
  • D.J. Gladney, OF
  • Anthony Hoopii-Tuionetoa, RHP
  • Michael Turner, C

Colson will have an opportunity to carry his strong finish to the season into a repeat AFL tenure. Taylor should be one of the best arms there, good to get him some innings now that he's healthy.

Looks like Zavala calmed the leg kick down a little bit. I still believe he is gonna have to ditch it. He had a bunch of trouble being on time this year despite running a lot of favorable counts.

There's a few other posts on that account explaining other adjustments he's working on.  He's working on deepening his hands and keeping them closer to his body.  I assume this is to make him shorter and quicker to the baseball which will help him be on time more often.
