WhiteSox2023
That’s amazing and embarrassing all at once. The Sox are the only team that would use a perennial loser like the Royals as the prototype for their big front office change and rebuild. The “bad” as Moustakas’s position is absolutely hilarious. The crazy, not-so-surprising thing is, so many people predicted this would happen. Like, it was comical at first, then slowly, it became a sad reality. 1

If you want to prototype a team, there are much better examples to follow on both sides of the spending spectrum with the Rays and Dodgers. But no, the Sox choose to copy one of the worst teams in baseball. There can’t be a dumber franchise in all of sports. The Rays one still requires work in order to overhaul org philosophy and invest more in scouting, development and analytics departments, so that’s a no go. The Royals one is more of a thoughts and prayers approach, so it’s perfect for an owner who wants to do as little as possible. 1

It shouldn’t be a surprise that JR would want to imitate a team that had a brief window of success, won one World Series, and went back to being perennially bad. The Sox were already the Royals, a decade earlier. Edited March 9 by WhiteSox2023 1

The Royals are also better positioned this year and beyond, and will invest in home grown stars vs. trashing and dumping which is the Reinsdorf way. World Series Championships: Royals 2 (1985, 2015) vs. White Sox 1 (2005) American League Pennants: Royals 3 (1985, 2014, 2015) over White Sox 1 (2005) 1
