We need to raise our payroll!

If JR and KW want to put a winning team on the field next year, they will realize that we could get Pudge or Castillo with the new signing of Guillen, that there are SS's that have an average over .230 and that DON'T want $5 mill a year, that their are CF's on the market, that we need a 3rd and 5th starter, that we could use a good Closer, and that our bullpen isn't all that great!

Well, we appreciate your sentiment. I assume you are indepentently wealthy and will be buying the Sox for $650 million and then you'll immediately spare no expense, getting us ARod, IRod, Bart and Pettitte. Did I miss anyone?

And...errr...I assume you'll file for bankrupcy and sell the team for pennies on the dollar?

But hey! It'll be different!

Forkit!

What are you talking about? I dont mean raise the payroll by like 15 million! I mean like 5-7 million. Thats not too much. The only "expensive" payer Id want is I-Rod. You know, there ARE players out there who want to win and don't play for the money. Dont forget, you have the Marlins/Guillen Factor.

Well if they are gonna spend 5 mill on a piss poor shortstop, then they better be planning on spending a hekc of a lot of money.

Whats next, Sox sign Mike Cameron to a 10 mill a year deal. :fyou

Shhh....Don't give them any ideas.

I don't rip the Sox often, but I am furious today.

If Jose goes out and duplicates 2000 and plays the defense he played last year...then I'll silence myself, but I don't see it happening.

And I don't see how the Sox are going to compete paying him that kind of money. Now I will be pissed if the Sox don't step up and sign some other players, cause they are the morons that think we the fans would care if our so called team leader walked.

I'd give a freaking standing ovation :headbang

I give JR multi $1,000s every year to help accomplish raising the payroll - what are you doing to help?

I was going to say something to the effect of "if you want a higher payroll, get your ass out to the park", but refrained. You hit the nail on the head.

I made it out ot the park 4 times this year, and I live over 2000 miles away. I also bought a s*** load of overpriced merchandise. I did what I could. :headbang

JR and KW didn't want to show up Guillen so they resigned Valentin to guarantee that the Sox will have a SS with a lower BA then he had. Does anyone have a site that confirms that Valentin's option was picked up? I have been supporting KW, but if he is behind picking up a 5M option of a .230's hitter with sub-par D, than I will be mad at him(not that it will have any affect), especially if the Sox end up with a payroll under 60M.

Um...I am in college and only had a part time job. But I did pay my way to 15 games this year.

I was hoping the  would tell people I was teasing - well, kind of -

I do believe you have to support the team by being there - if you don't go, kind of like someone who never votes b****ing about who gets elected -

and obviously living in Oregon (although I live in Michigan and am there most weekends, may still put on more miles! ) or California (loved SNL's pictures of the massive fires and the announcement, "God has cast his ballot in the recall...") it is tough to go often!

Having been a college student and still able to remember those years, I would say any student who gets to 15 games is doing damn good - that is about what I averaged I think, I was always in the 10-15 range - studied for many a final in the left stand grand stands back in the day

If the Sox want me to pick up 4 season tickets they better be aggressive and spend some money to adjust the talent...

I dont want Jose back...I want Roberto and a new bettter Shortstop...Not to mention Bartolo or equivalent...

Without doing this forget about me picking up season tickets...
