Dick Allen
I would trade Konerko before I trade Koch too I would actually think about bringing in Palmero to replace Konerko, if we can trade Konerko to dodgers or someone like that Palmero would provide us with a lefty bat (which we need) Would you think about how we are going to pay him? Well if he was willing to just play for a winner and come in rather cheap, I'd say it would be a great move. Don't know how willing he'd be to take a big paycut, but it would be worth Kenny making the phone call, imo. Thats if he can unload Konerko. I used to think the Sox had budget concerns, but spending $5 million on Valentin must mean they have money to burn.
witesoxfan
Foulke has proven to Sox fans, as well as A's fans, that he can't close big games. I for one don't want to see Foulke back in a Sox uniform. If the Sox don't end up keeping Koch, I'm sure that since Ozzie is buddy buddy with Uggy Urbina we might be able to bring him here for a reduced price. Ideally, I'd like to keep Koch, because I think he's going to rebound this year. Then again, no one's gonna know until ST. I'd take Urbina, so long as he doesn't come into a game where Sosa comes up with the tying run on base in the bottom of the 9th. Man that was ugly. Steff
Couldn't have said it better myself. It's like you read my mind I watched Private Parts last night and for some reason your post made me think of the "Pussy Willow" bit.. OMG. I was LMAO... "Well, Gene.. the only thing I have on my mind is pussy... pussy willow".. LMAO again!!
winninguglyin83
The 100 mph heater won't be back. Koch never complained about being injured last year -- even after the fact. He's been worked like a mule for three or four years on a elbow that was fixed early in his career. If you can dump him, dump him. He'd get about three batters before Sox fans started booing him again. Might be quicker if he blew a game or two to start the year in KC again. Rather see them let Marte close. If you can keep Flash for a reasonable number, OK. If not, keep looking: Marte, Sullivan, Wright, Ginter, Munoz, Wunsch and maybe a bargain free agent signing. As for Foulke, he ain't coming back to the South Side. KW don't want him. And he doesn't want to be in Chicago. All he did was A) blow key games; B) tell JM to pull him as a starter because he had lost his confidence and C) keep inquiring about becoming a starter. See ya, Foulkie. greg775
I'm in favor of dumping Koch to anybody, even though there is the real possiblity he'll pull a Foulke and get good again. remember, we are hexed.

Well, I don't agree that Foulke ever did anything wrong here in 2002. The fact that he and KW had differing opinions, and let each other know sealed Keiths fate with the Sox. KW went ego trippin on Foulke, and traded him so he could make a point. "I am running this team, not the players Didn't seem to affect Foulkes performance, though
BrandoFan
You know what? If you substitute Foulke's and Osuna's ERA with White's and Koch's, Sox probably win the division by avoiding A LOT of early season late-inning collapses. Thanks Kenny, saved a few Mill for uncle Jerry, didn't ya? How did THAT work out?

Pastime
The whole Billy Koch thing is really a quandry. If we trade him and he really sucks ass for NY, then we would consider the trade as a present gift-wrapped from the Baseball Gods. Kenny would look like a pure genius. However, if we trade him and he ends up 5-4, 2.57, 43 saves, then we would consider it a sign that the Sox truly are cursed by the demons of Hell. Kenny would look like a lobotomized jackass. It could go either way.

Pastime
If Kenny was given a payroll of 75 million, I don't think he would ever complain. However, I would never want to be GM of a cheapass organization headed by a miser like Reinsdick. If I were Kenny, I would demand a 75 million payroll, and if I didn't get it, I would tell Reinsdumbass to stick it up his ass sideways. slick03
No, no, slick, I've been fighting the kill Billy Koch army since April of this year. I think that if he doesnt pick up a baseball until Spring Training, we may find ourselves with the Koch that we traded for. i hope your right...we could use that koch
