I just read somewhere in the last few days that signing a player to a multi-year contract before their debut nullifies the ROY draft reward. Is it really going to be a surprise if and when Crochet hits the DL at some point this season? Obviously we all hope it doesn’t happen but there is a high chance of it happening. There will be so many “I told you so” on this site. He looked great though yesterday, and it would make his starts worth watching if he can stay healthy.

nrockway
Two backward K's for Monty. Both strike 3 calls were very close, very good pitches. I guess you like his patience but he's gotta swing the bat too.

As has been pointed out, a pitcher starts rehabbing about 2 months after surgery. Please post his doctor's medical opinion, or just stop. No big league pitcher has come back from TJS in that short of a period and thrown more than about 10 innings since 2019 as far as I could find. What's actually ironic is that in January 2023, I wrote clearly that there was a smarter plan for Crochet - sending him to the minors, bringing him along slowly, and I specifically predicted that the White Sox would do the exact opposite, rush him back by May and he'd wind up just like one of the guys who threw under 10 innings. It could never have been more obvious how it was going to go. It

If all the prospects are going to be at Birmingham, I wonder why they promoted Colson. Maybe they wanted him to focus on power in that launching pad. Gonna be interesting who plays short at AA. Popeye’s best position by far is 2b. Any chance Baldwin makes it to AA? Baldwin might be the shortstop in AA. Rodriguez will join Charlotte.
