Tiger Series Recap

0-3

The defense is improved from last year. They aren't getting blown out.

A couple injuries in the "cold" weather.

Overall about what we should have expected.

The recap is the same things that have been plaguing this organization for years are still very much in play.

Terrible pitch recognition, to few walks, to many strikeouts, no clutch hitting. the "so-called" best players ("Bust Brothers") suck, the bullpen chokes in key situations and oh yes...injuries.

Here's a recap: 1.5 of the stars of the farm from 4-5 years ago is good and the rest are literally dogshit. The manager is in over his head. The owner doesn't care. The GM is a d**k. At least the $15 milkshakes or whatever are good

I think schmuck is a better descriptor of Getz.

If in fact they do get the Braves games in, they'll easily be 0-6. The question is how bad does it get until changes are made. Obviously it's not all Grifol's fault but he doesn't belong in the dugout. He has to be the first one to go. Does Getz have the balls to do it is the question.

Also--defense is nice. Still need to score to win ballgames. Robert can't do it all himself, and if Eloy is going to s%*# the bed again (only took 3 games before he got hurt, what a surprise), then runs are going to be at an even more premium. Come on down Ramos and Montgomery.

No. Let those guys get real time in at the minor league level. Why rush them? To maybe win a few more games in a lost season?

Starting pitching was good.  Bullpen was shaky at times (the wrong times).  Offense was meh.

Few standouts: Robert, Shewmake, Chrochet, Kopech, Leasure, Lee.

Overall, it’s going to be a long season.

I would venture unless we’re sitting at say 5-25 to start the year that we won’t see a change. With how they constructed this roster, they know 110 losses is possible.

Grifol will be dumped at some point as the scapegoat. That said, he shouldn’t be the manager.

Just like Hahn.

Hahn was a weasel too. Seem Jerry has a type.

Yep, guys that build a team the way Jerry wants them to.   I still find it incredible that Jerry said Getz was such an amazing developer of talent.

JR was selling BS but Sox fans by and large saw right through that nonsense.

The attendance is going to shrink so quickly as the losses mount.

I think most of us probably accepted the fact the Sox wouldn't score many (or any) runs this year. But the pitching and defense at least have the potential to be respectable. I will say if they pitch and catch this well all season (they won't since if they do many of them will get traded) they will likely over perform their projected consensus low 60 win total.

They have sold a lot less tickets for 2024 vs. 2023, and a lot less in 2023 vs. 2022. They will sell less in 2025 vs. 2024 unless an unexpected turnaround occurs.

Will see a lot of tickets either given away like the CPS promotion, or the very cheap tickets they offered last year and during tanking and Pepsi Can B1G1 seasons. I also expect the pay $x9 dollars to attend any/all games within a month promotion we’ve seen in the past from them and other teams.

There are not many season ticket holders beyond direct marketing partners or non sponsor corporate tickets used to entertain clients. They already trashed the stub hub value of tickets for all but a handful of games each year for the past 15 seasons.
