I’m surprised that the Cubs have been even worse in this area.

Lip Man 1
https://chicago.suntimes.com/white-sox/2024/06/26/sorry-andrew-benintendi-but-white-sox-season-is-actually-uglier-than-it-seems-jerry-reinsdorf-1962-mets Benintendi’s quote is a reflection of a franchise that doesn’t get it. Chairman Jerry Reinsdorf, head ever in the sand, doesn’t get it. He’s responsible for this. He’s the one who hired general manager Chris Getz, who doesn’t get it. He’s the one who hired manager Pedro Grifol, who doesn’t get it. Promises were made before the season about things getting better. And now? It’s actually a lot uglier than it looks. southsider2k5
29 baseball teams still have a theoretical path to win 100 games this year. The Chicago White Sox could win every single game for the entire rest of the season. (73 games) and would still only win 98 games.
southsider2k5
The White Sox have not won a game in 2024, when trailed after the 6th, 7th, or 8th inning's. They are now 0-53 when trailing after 8.

They trailed going into the last of the 10th inning but won 8-7. One single solitary game. Wow.

Lip Man 1
Saw this stat this morning, it may also turn out to be a record. Grifol is 2-12 in challenges so far this season. He's been thrown out of more games than challenges won. ?

T R U
Im pretty sure Cleveland could lose the next 40 games in a row and would still be 10+ games up on the Sox.

GreenSox
In the last 30 games, the Sox are 10- 20, tied for last in MLB. Yet the ERA over that time is #3 in MLB. Coaching. Or in baseball parlance, managing.
