Chasing Records — 121 losses, modern MLB record

Recommended Posts

I just watched the highlights of the win. Fans booed the Sox off the field after winning. I think that's a little harsh but I understand the sentiment. Still seemed a little weird to boo a victory. I want the team to stay in the 30s for wins but if they must win they must win. It's still our team like it or not.

It is weird to boo a win. But it might be good for the team to realize how angry the fans are. I know it is impossible, but I want the team to win out the schedule and not set a new and dubious record. But the trouble is that lineup is not a major league lineup. Now, that's a reason to boo.

Yes and that's our lineup for next year. Maybe they'll give up on Sheets and Vaughn but can you imagine the old whiff kings that will replace those young whiff kings? They'll find some former sluggers who will play the HR or K game each at bat if they get rid of Sheets and Vaughn. p.s. who will pitch Opening Day with Crochet being dealt? Our rotation should be the team's downfall next. year combined with inconsistent relievers.

What exactly are you giving up on?  It is the non-existant defense you are afraid of losing, or the way below league average hitting for their position?

I’m actually pretty high on the SP potential for next year. At the very least, I’m nowhere near as down on that front as the rest of the club.

I'm just saying to replace Vaughn and Sheets, which is fine, we'll pick up some 35-year-old slugger/stiffs/DH types to fill their roles.

You act like there is a difference between that and those guys.  Oh right, they aren't 35 yet.

Rowdy Tellez now on that FA market...$200 poorer thanks to the spendthrift Pirates.

Let's sign him and Kyle Hendriks and just call it a productive offseason.  Maybe change of scenery trade for CJ Abrams since we still lack a true SS in the system.  So three Soxish moves.

That's actually 200,000
