Would it be possible to limit this debate to maybe 3 threads instead of every thread?

Nah, it's a crochet blanket that covers the entirety of the forum.

Also, if he becomes an ace, they truly need to put a #45 crochet blanket in the store. Or at least a regular punny blanket.

Insane, right?

I was all about turning Crochet into a starter but this absolutely seems like an insane approach to building up a guy who has had tons of arm trouble.

I would buy that, that's a good idea. Send it over to marketing.

Doesn't look like the rain is really showing up until 5 PM. This game will be over before 4 PM, unless the Braves put up a 20 spot, so I don't think weather is a concern.

Is there any internal discussion of bringing in any low cost unsigned starters / waiver claims (between $740K and $3M)?

Don't understand why Getz is so obsessed stashing early to mid 30s guys (Pillar, Grossman, Phillips, Ortega) in addition to Fletcher, Colas, Sheets, and DeLoach  for RF and a 4th OF.

Whereas they are already burning prospects and starting the clock on guys like Nastrini with four AAA starts at his highest level.

Rich Hill, Johnny Queto can likely get you 20-25 starts this year covering 100 + innings. The White Sox desperately need innings eaters just to survive the season. Why won't they add a 5th / 6th starter, especially after demoting Kopech?

Sox have Kuhl, Woodford, Shuster, Touissant, and Martin at Charlotte all of whom have MLB starting experience. Not sure Rich Hill or Cueto is preferable to any of those guys at this point. Also have Cannon at Charlotte

Martin should not be an option as he's less than a year out from TJS.

Oh yeah forgot. Still I’d just as soon go with one of Nastrini, Woodford, Kuhl, Shuster or Toussaint over Rich Hill or Cueto at this point.

Jesus fucking christ that's not what they're going to do.  It's inevitable that he's going to need a dl stint or two due to soreness/tired arm so they're letting him go now and will keep evaluating him as the season goes on.  These extereme hot takes are getting tiresome.

Yeah you’re right, he’s only thrown about 35 innings since 2021 so letting him go 5-6 innings and 90 pitches right out of the gate is fine, especially if they expect to DL him anyways. I’m not sure what I was thinking with this scorching hot take.

Then you’ve got guys like Thorpe, Cannon or Bush potentially available to make late season starts, depending on how their seasons go of course. Don’t think there would be much of a point signing a 44 year old Hill or Cheto both of who looked cooked last year

RIP ILoy

Eloy wanted to play 150 games this year. Well, if you take spring training and use WestEddys formula of batting practice, and hitting in the cage, he still should get there.

Is that the AI version of Eloy?

"ILoy.....how long will Eloy be out of the lineup?".....

We are sorry but the ILoy bot is day to day and currently out of service

The Knights’ #5 hitter is probably a better hitter than the Sox’. Colas. Time will tell. Replace the bottom four with Sosa, Montgomery, Colas and Lee by the trade deadline and those other four could make a decent bench. Dump sheets and eloy and add deloach and the august roster you have:

Lee

Vaughn

Sosa

Moncada

Montgomery

Benintendi

Robert

Colas

Bench/DH: Maldonado/Lopez/Dejong/Fletcher/Deloach

Maybe Shewmake instead of Dejong, Pillar instead of Fletcher or Stassi instead of Maldonado. Then next year you can merge in guys like Ramos, Rodriguez, Quero, etc in a similar fashion

Don't forget about those super secret ABs that injured guys get which no one else does.
