Autumn Dreamin
Is it crazy to think that the Atlanta Braves in chilly Chicago might have been a more manageable match up than the Norfolk Tides in the Charlotte bandbox?
DirtySox
Norfolk continues to homer against Sox pitching.

caulfield12
Only two hitters above 650 ops for Charlotte. Nastrini getting killed. This Norfolk squad destroys the Sox lineup if you remove Luis Robert, Jr.
caulfield12
Nastrini 91-92 tonight. One pitch at 93. Lenyn Sosa making a bid to replace Shewmake... Edited April 3 by caulfield12
Autumn Dreamin
Knights take a 5-4 lead and chase the starter after 2.2IP. Lefty coming in to face Colson with 2 on.
DirtySox
Colson now 3 for 3 on the night. You love to see it.
caulfield12
7-4 lead one-third of the way through. With Norfolk offense and Sox pitching this one might last forever. SportsGuy enjoying this one more than the major league O's against Ragans. Edited April 3 by caulfield12

caulfield12
And Sosa defense takes away. Norfolk offense looking like Oregon State's in the last two years of Nicky Two Strikes Madrigal. Seven Charlotte pitchers now with 6.75 plus ERA's. Make that eight including Nastrini.

Autumn Dreamin
Redemption HR for Sosa ties the game again.
caulfield12
That didn't last long. 10-8 Norfolk. Stowers es en fuego. 12--8. Horn getting lit up. Knights looking to match 1-4 Sox record. Edited April 4 by caulfield12

fathom
8 of the 9 Norfolk hitters have an OPS starting with 1.
fathom
You have to wonder how much playing in such a bandbox hurts the development of Sox pitchers.

Always the opposite with Birmingham helping pitchers and hurting hitters unless they're Thomas and Venture quality. Really need to move back the fences or do something...there's band box and whatever this constitutes. Basically like these O's playing at Little K outside Kauffman. Autumn Dreamin
6 minutes ago, fathom said: You have to wonder how much playing in such a bandbox hurts the development of Sox pitchers. 2022 Davis Martin had a 1.9 HR/9 in Charlotte and a 1.1 HR/9 in the bigs. He had a 3.65 ERA through his first ~60IP in the majors (before his injury shortened blowup start). 6.11 ERA in Charlotte, 3.00 in Birminham. Ventura kinda sucked in Birmingham. He developed in the majors.
caulfield12
Revenge of SportsGuy and RolleTide. And Peyton Burdick, too. Mendick now pitching. The Matt Davidson/Leury of the Charlotte roster. Edited April 4 by caulfield12
caulfield12
6 ER for Mendick. 26-11. Norfolk 29/56. Check out Holliday line. Sheesh. Edited April 4 by caulfield12

The park doesn't seem to be doing any favors for the Sox developing hitters. The player dev is a trainwreck.
