tray
The 1977 WSox probably drew more fans than almost any other WSox team in the history of the franchise. The reasons for the attendance draw were basically twofold - Harry Carey and a team that hit a lot of clutch home runs. The '83 Sox had a great team but the fan support started early on with Fisk, Luzinski and Kittle hitting roof top shots. I realize that winning games is the ultimate goal, but a lot of fans come out to see home runs. Our line-up, even at full strength, has not produced enough home runs at GRF to create any reason for a lot of fans to attend.

They are last in total runs scored in the MLB with 16 and averaging 1.78 runs per game. Who would want to attend a baseball game when your team can’t even outscore the Chicago Fire? https://www.mlb.com/stats/team/runs 1
