We’ll see.  Even a flier prospect is better than nothing.

Agree to disagree. I personally see more value pumping the defense up to inflate the pitchers’ value. I think this gives you far better odds of returning decent prospects than Rosario, Grichuk or Taylor. Those kinds of players just don’t return anything meaningful at trade deadlines.

For some reason Rodriguez didn't play for us to start the year but almost immediately started playing for the Phillies organization.

So far this year in AA; 6/21 (.286), .423 OBP, .899 OPS, 1 HR, 2 RBI, 2 SB

Glad we gave him up to keep Shaw on the roster for an extra week

Except our defense which was what Getz tried to make so great is ranked 22nd in fielding percentage. So we got crappy hitters who can't field either this year. Yay White Sox.

It's not going to help the pitchers when they go out on the bump thinking they will only get 0-1-2 runs per game...that's going to become very discoraging, regardless of the actual defense played behind them.

They’re average now after losing their top two defenders in Robert and Moncada. Obviously can’t count on those two but if they were even semi healthy this season the defense would be above average.

But that’s just it.  They have kept counting on those three for going on 5-6 years now.

Look at the results.

They can’t give up on Robert…but they’re only going to get 60-75% of what he once would have been worth.

Which simply leads to a permanently rebuilding process like the Pirates or Royals that lasted for decades.
