Story on Sox trade possibilities...

Everyone knows what the expression implies. That’s not what a Kopech trade would/will be.

He's not the definition of a busted top prospect and a busted starting pitcher?

And his last two games out of the pen?

Quality work to ask him to justify something that hadn't happened yet when he made his post.

Eloy has the recurrent hamstring injury issue so he is not going to be here next season and who knows if he will return this season. That leaves the DH spot open for Sheets or Vaughn. However will either one hit enough including with power numbers to command that spot ?  Vaughn hitting around .200 with an OPS of .587 and 4 homers, 2 of which he  hit recently. That is after 4+ years in the league. Sheets has been a better hitter, but still....he needs work against LH (pitchers).

That 2019 MLB Draft was a real catastrophe for the White Sox. It sent 3 franchises in different directions:

1st Pick - Adley Rutchman

2nd pick - Bobby Witt, Jr.

3rd pick - Andrew Vaughn

Is picking a 1B that high a good idea?  There is nowhere else they can go except DH.

I guess I should stay up all night in China and post this thought immediately...rather than waiting until after another blown saves with more gopher balls flying out.

You could use my extend Crochet/Kopech thread against me...but growing numbers want to extend Garrett.

Cubs have shown interest in Vlady Jr. for DH but the price has reportedly been steep.  That made me wonder if the Cubs they might have some interest in Eloy who  could potentially help them for a post All-Star run for the Division.

Eloy is a bad baseball player who can’t stay healthy.  No contender is going to trade for him in hopes of improving his chances.

Maybe if the White Sox paid his entire salary and agreed to a C prospect in return.

When Eloy is healthy he can hit and some team like the Cubs might take him for a stretch run.  He would mash in Wrigley.

"Bad baseball players ?"  The Sox have several of those  (e.g., AV and Bennintendi ) that can't field or hit even when healthy.

There in lies the rub as was once written by Shakespeare.

He is never healthy and will never be healthy.

The problem is Eloy is never healthy and he’s only going to have a very short window when he comes back from his latest setback to prove that he is.  I think some club will give him a shot in the offseason as a DH, but I doubt it will be someone with serious ambitions of winning.  He simply hasn’t flashed enough these past two years (102 wRC+ in 635 PA’s) to make a large gamble on.

Is Wrigley actually easier to mash in than GRF?

Dodgers can use a CF.  Just sayin'......

Braves are now also suddenly in the need to replace All Star OF numbers.

Rosenthal article mentioned today that they like Tommy Pham.

I wonder what we could realistically get for him?

Maybe a bit more than the Grossman trade.  Remember, they could have signed him in April, just like we did.

That would be a weak return.
