What an adjustment on offense by subbing in Korey Lee for Maldonado!

Maldonado hitting .086 and Lee is hitting .275.  The proof is in the Pudding.  Sox should ask Maldonado for a refund.

LOL. Bassitt mows us down. Actually Sox got 10 hits today, whoopie, but only one run. Still Bassitt five innings, no runs, 7 K's. One huge LOL.

Looking forward to hearing Sheets HR call on the mlb,com replay. Our announcer usually insults us by freaking out in joy despite the big picture hovering over everything. Suddenly the Sox reek at home again to go with the dismalness on the road.

I truly wish baseball would contract the Sox. Mabe we could get an exhibition team or the Rays move to Chicago or something.

If we were in the UK, Sox would have already been relegated to the minors.

Vaughn is a 1B hitting below the Mendoza line with mediocre defense, and no speed.  Another first round failure by the Sox.  IMO.

Another near shutout spoiled.  Curses.

Is that 2 games in a row with the only Sox run being a solo shot in the 8th?

Looks like a pair of 2nd inning doubles in the ... run counting thing.

I think you guys are mad at Schriffen for the wrong reasons. It's his fuckin job to be the Sox hype man, do you expect him to be as depressed and miserable as we are? Why? You know what the job duties are. He seems realistic about how bad the team is too, he talks about it every game. Bigger issues with Schriffen, but "home team announcer likes the home team" is not a criticism. I'm genuinely surprised that it apparently is. What do you expect him to say on air? Seriously, let's hear a script of what the Sox PBP commentator should be saying. What would you be saying if it was your job?

Nrockway my only beef is I've heard him get all excited about a run scoring double or homer when the game is completely out of reach or the team is in some ridiculous losing streak. Enthusiasm is fine but when the team is this bad it's silly to celebrate wildly run scoring doubles or homers. ... Also our team has a history of non homer announcers: Harry, Piersall, Stoney, Hawk for sure. These guys were entertaining yet blasted the team for sorry play. You can't act all excited when a homer cuts the gap to 4-1 in the eighth and the team is blazing toward yet another loss.

I’m not sure you understand what a homer announcer is.

Harry Caray and Jimmy Piersall broadcast some lousy Sox teams in their years on the Southside and were honest and critical, I wonder what they would be saying if they had to broadcast a team that was as bad as the 2024 White Sox, it would probably be hilarious.

All he can do is talk about this June's draft  trade deadline   advances in minor s like BIRM.  Crochet.  Robert coming back.

Compare to teams like Royals who lost 106 games last year, etc.

Concessions and upcoming promos/opponents.

Sox Charities, ACE, summer camps.

Stone ends the Sheets HR highlight with "and all is well in Sox land." Steve, they're worst team in the league and they're currently down 2 runs with 5 outs left.

was Steve referring to the Red Sox instead?

Sure, it's his job to be the hype man, but at what point are you undermining your own credibility by acting like the North Korean state media?

You want to be entertained watching a Sox game? There are a few on youtube with Harry and Jimmy. Just classic. Ripping all the bad, stupid plays.

I was friends with Jimmy back in my tennis days in Wheaton, Jimmy and I belonged to the same club and talked White Sox baseball all the time in person and on the phone. Only thing that bothered me is that he hated my boyhood hero, the Mighty Mite, Nellie Fox but he also despised Tony LaRussa.

Among other things Jimmy thought Nellie was a crybaby when guys slid into second base with the spikes a little on the high side, much different game in those days.

Harry and Jimmy were the best ever.  And on top of that, every now and then they would be joined by Dizzy Dean or Satchel Paige in the booth!  Almost too good to be true.  Those days are long gone and baseball telecasts will never be as entertaining again.
