Next trade MUST bring a proven major league reliever. Another bullpen loss tonight.

Recommended Posts

Next trade needs to include a proven, ready to go, major league reliever coming to the Sox.  If you can throw in Grifol in the trade for free would be great too.

OUR BULLPEN HAS BEEN ATROCIOUS AND  UNABLE TO HOLD A LEAD, and is our most important need today.  Grifol mismanagement has not helped either.

Let’s focus on the entirely new lineup that needs to be developed and acquired before we worry about relievers.

Yep there’s not a single player on this roster that’s likely on the next .500 team

Just get rid of the old bums and see what Berroa and co can do the rest of the way. Call up Thorpe already, what's he still doing down there. If any of our relief pitchers are considered  useful, trade them.

Would've been nice to win these easily winnable games but they seem like the sort of losses that spark movement on a new coaching staff.

Berroa seems to be lacking in the "plus stuff" we believed that we were getting, at least so far.

Inciarte might be slotted here, but it really doesn't matter.  Leasure, whatever, it is what it is.   Let Wilson try to get a run going so they can market him as a quasi-closer.

It’s like you believe that we can actually field a better team this year… don’t rush a player’s development just to try and win a couple of extra games for a historically horrible team.

Can we trade for a new owner instead?

Inquiring minds want to know.

Yep, JR has destroyed the franchise with his greed and antiquated methods of running the organization, the jerk still thinks it’s 1983.

Every player must be "rushed", huh. More like he's 23 and has a 1 ERA at Birmingham. There's nothing left for him to do there. There's a flip side to being "rushed" and that's getting into bad habits against hitters you overmatch. I swear people act like getting called up to the Majors and seeing what you're capable of is a death sentence for a player.

Thorpe will probably spend some time in AAA before he called up.Might be this year and be next year.

Charlotte is a band box but he still should be tested by the more advanced AAAA hitters who are in AAA.

He's been traded twice because although he's a great prospect he doesn't have overwhelming stuff besides his changeup.

Yes he should be tested but perhaps not at the MLB level. Charlotte will be a challenge.

He already started in the bigs this year once after dominating in the minors before we acquired him… how’d that go?

If he’s not challenged in AA - move him up. No need to rush him up to this s%*# show.

This.  Plus, why?  He is going to see more contact at the major league level, and he will have the leagues worst defense behind him.  What are we going to learn from that?  What is he going to learn from that?  There is nothing wrong with him spending a few more months in Birmingham with a club that is actually good, and letting him experience some winning and quality teammates.  He will have plenty of time in Chicago, assuming he can handle it.

The Royals brought up Witt early on when the team reeked. It's worked out. I wish the Sox had MLB caliber players to play every day. Since they don't it's really criminal to charge MLB prices for stuff. At least cut all prices IN HALF right now if you are going to play these horrible players, old and young. Who cares if Colas goes 0-for-70? Play him every day. It's not going to hurt him. We're losing anyway. There's no reason to give at bats and playing time to guys like Maldy. I wouldn't worry about rushing players. It's not like their ineptitude if they stink will hurt the club. Remember Ventura was 0-for-30 or something then he got good.

Who Thorpe?  He hasn't had a MLB call up yet.
