Ms broadcast said it’s the Sox’ 25th loss of the year after “leading late.”  I assume that means 6th inning and after.  That’s pretty damn impressive.

I’m also pretty sure they haven’t won a game they were trailing after 6, although this one wouldn’t qualify.

Happy for Thorpe. First Sox game I've watched since the 2nd game in April and he was very good in his debut. Then I turned it off after he exited and the Sox were up one. Of course they lost.

Another day...another blown late lead.

for the 14TH time this season...the Sox had a lead in the 7th inning or later...AND LOST THE GAME.

But...

Even more incredible, this is the 7TH TIME IN THE LAST 11 GAMES this has happened.

Words fail me.

This maybe the worst bullpen in franchise history, I do know that Brebbia appears to be another garbage signing wasting millions of dollars of JR's coveted money.

Thorpe was good but he threw a lot of 91 mph fastballs right down the middle that didn't really get punished. I get that his changeup is very good and his fastball plays off it, it just feels like he's tempting fate every time he throws it in the zone (two were hit for doubles). Still, he made a lot of good hitters look silly.

Bullpen ... historically bad. Starting pitcher: he did well. Next game will tell me more. He'll be relaxed. I'm surprised some of the stat people on the site aren't alarmed that he's not a flamethrower. I guess he has a good changeup at least that's what they showed on the mlb highlights.

Bad defense, bad base running, bad clutch hitting, bad bullpen didn’t help Thorpe’s outcome.  The team has been terrible, it’s painful to watch. Let’s just Be a spoiler the rest of the season.  Need to shake the tree, fire Grifol first of all.

Hank, I do want our prospects to do well when they come up. As far as the team, we're so far out of it I kind of get a sick delight when the Sox lose. I mean truly any win we get is meaningless. However I want the young guys with a future to do well. And an older guy like Pham and even DeJong. His power surge has been interesting. DeJong might be our all star representative if not Crochet. I did not realize Robert's BA was so low.

You don't have to be a flamethrower to be an effective pitcher.  See Michael Kopech.

Great! Increase the possibility he gets traded.

Mixed signals in his underlying data. 31% pull rate, which is terrible and won't cut it. But avg LA up to 19, avg EV up to 91. He's obviously trying to hit more fly balls, but he's still fighting his swing. From the side profile his load is long and loopy.

He's clearly trying to wring any and all power out of the body and frame he has, but he's got about another 100 games in MLB as a lock starter to figure it out. If he can close with like a 770 OPS for the year you give him another shot, it's it's closer to 670 probably not, not as a starter anyways.
