Squeezed out of playing time by the return from the IL of Benintendi, Oscar Colas hasn’t started in a week and could be ticketed for a return to Charlotte when designated hitter Eloy Jimenez (hamstring strain) is expected to return from the injured list next week.

Colas is 9-for-25 with two walks in his last nine games. His approach has been better disciplined, but he has no extra-base hits.

“He works extremely hard, he’s doing everything he can to stay sharp,” Grifol said. “He can’t do this long-term. If an opportunity doesn’t present itself in the near future, then obviously it’s more beneficial for him to go get at-bats.”

Makes sense. Guys like Sheets, Pham, those are the ones you want to give ABs to. They have a huge influence on the future of the organization, obviously.

 

To be fair, not like he won't be back up within 14 games if he is sent down for Eloy.

Only one time this season April 27 vs. Tampa Bay did the Sox trail in the 7th inning or later and win. 

They beat the Rays 8-7 in 10 innings coming from behind in the 10th to do it.

He's a fat sack of s%*#, the worst hitter I have ever watched play for this team, and has zero redeeming qualities as a catcher. f*** this guy. But Grifol loves that "he puts the right fingers down". Fucking lol.
