BamaDoc
https://www.mlb.com/prospects/stats/affiliates?teamId=145&date=06/22/2024 https://www.milb.com/scores/all/all/whitesox Schultz and Keener listed. Birmingham up against a ranked Rays prospect so should be good matchup.
Timmy U
Neither Montgomery or Ramos is in the line up tonight for Charlotte. I assume a scheduled day off for both.
caulfield12
Birmingham holding just a 1/2 game lead over Tennessee with two to go…TN at home, facing sub .500 MS. Schultz on the road makes tonight pretty close to a must win for advancing to the Sept playoffs.

caulfield12
Schultz working on adding a two seamer to go with 4 seamer. CH SL. Sweeping Slider second best pitch...some would argue best. Montgomery can also clinch with a win tonight. 96 on gun. Lead off double to lcf gap. Runner slow as heck not to get to 3rd with that weird cutout in the fence there. Baldwin at SS. Gonzalez 2B. First throw from SS 75-80% effort. CF let a sinking liner awkwardly fall in front of him. Too indecisive. Nearly bounced away for an error. 1-0 Biscuits Another single grounded through 3B SS gap. 1st and 2nd Ely out to visit Schultz. caulfield12
Last Sox prep first rounders for Sox were Stumm or Honel 21 years ago before Schultz 2022. Birmingham looking for 9th consecutive playoff season. Wild pitch on sweeper to inside. Baldwin almost threw a ball past first base in the dirt, would have been 3-0. Weak arm for mlb SS. Don't love his mechanics/long arm delivery from short. Needs to be faster. Birmingham collapsing on offense this final week except for Veras homers. Only one win. Burke's swing is way too long. Blown away. No hits for Birmingham through 2. Edited June 22 by caulfield12
caulfield12
Walk on 4 pitches to lead off second inning. Only 4th walk, but in 16 2/3 in AA. Schultz more like Andrew Miller than Big Unit. Stolen base...time to plate for Schultz is going to be a huge issue IMO. Out of the inning. Seymour through 3...no base runners from Barons. Sox have an Australian or NZ third baseman in Matthews. Yay for Intl scouting? Another bad throw from Baldwin. Sailed way high but runner not fast enough to get there. Schultz struggles to field comebacker but leaks through to Baldwin. At least Baldwin has athleticism to be a super utility guy ... comes in and makes running throw. Schultz hits a batter with two out on the heel. Burke can of corn to LCF. But he's going to get run on a ton with how long that delivery is...and fieldIng seems to be an issue with how he's falling off to the side so far. Great play from RF Schnell in foul territory...excellent range. 10 consecutive outs. Baldwin reaches out and pokes a single through 2B. Great bat control. 16/20 SB. Btw Elko has been on fire...7 hits so far in series. He singles on a soft liner to CF. 1st 2nd one out. Quero deep to RCF fence. 2 outs. Baldwin to 3rd for Veras. Veras in big slump except for two homers...soft grounder to second. ends threat. Edited June 22 by caulfield12
caulfield12
Schultz is almost a powerful finesse guy. Not a dominating FB tonight. Another single. Hogan almost a disaster in RF barely kept footing but caught ball. 1 out 55 pitches. Hasn't gone past 4 innings yet/still. Second K. Gonzalez with terrible range to his left...was trying to spin to first before he had the ball. Ruled a single. Tried smoke screen steal of second to draw the throw...Gonzo threw him out to Quero to get runner from third by a mile. Oops Michael Turner bat catcher Quero DH, announcer was wrong. Likely done around 60ish pitches. Schultz from this ONE game looked more like a 2/3 guy IMO. At least compared to Crochet. PolishPrince34
I actually don't think that. I'm just making fun of Caulfield's depressing observations.

Indifferent on Gonzalez and Baldwin as 2-3 fWAR mlb regulars. Haven't watched rest of starting rotation closely via live video. Some are higher on Baldwin as he's leading the Southern League in hitting. Still don't think we have a plus MLB SS on the defensive side in the system. caulfield12
David Fletcher's knuckleball leads to a 4-4 tie in key Tennessee MS game. Unlikely but Matthews and Turner Hogan key 3 run rally, Barons lead 4-1 going to Bot 10 in Montgomery. Edited June 23 by caulfield12

Please tell me no relationship to Yogurt lol? Same problem, not even a marginal glove first hitter. Compare to Ortiz with Brewers.
