Those Cleveland pitchers should be really embarrassed. ? His batting average now is up to .096!

Tanner Banks is going to be 37 when he hits free agency.
He's never had a bad year in the pros:  his worst whip for any year was 1.37, most of his career as a starter. Sox waited until he was 30 to call him up.
And he'll never get any sort of payday.  It's a shame.

His deal this year is for 755,000 dollars. I wouldn't call that never getting any sort of payday and this is his third year in the league so he made money the first two years.

Is it mega-mega millions? No. But if he invests it wisely he and his family will be fine.

That's true, but this is baseball, and good players, which he is, make a lot more than that.  So do bad players.  And really, there was no reason for the Sox to wait so long to call him up, especially with Hahnber's affectation with the bullpen.  Most teams grow at least 1/2 of their pen from farmhands like him.

He's made in 3 years what a lot of people make in a life time.

Well, he was a starting pitcher who struck out 6 per 9 IP. Not really sexy. Yes, they probably should have started converting him to the bullpen before his 5th season in the system.

He's invested 11 years to make about 2 years of that low salary.

All the pity for Banks needs a reality check......

He wasn't very good in minors and didn't have the "stuff"

Maybe we give the white Sox some credit for getting the most out of him and developing him to the best they could

Anyway, I think someone will trade for him.

Do you even watch this team?

You expected to beat Cleveland on the road after the game one give up play by Robert? Of course I expected a sweep. You didn't? Maldy finally hit and we got the usual good starting pitching so we won.

Yes. In the horrible first weeks of the year, the White Sox had played the Guardians surprisingly close. We won one, and lost another in a walk-off. Again, I'm not even sure if you watch the games.

Now 5-4 against the Guards, too bad we stink against the rest of the Central.

My only response to that is that after his agent and Uncle Sam take their cut its not 755k. And that's great for one year but a lot of athletes aren't walking away from a professional sport into high paying gigs. Tanner Banks isn't going to leave MLB and become a silicon valley executive.

So he's about 30 years ahead of the average household.

I've made no attempt to hide I watch none of the games. I read the box scores and watch the game video summary on mlb.com. Sox lost this long time fan this season. Won't watch. I didn't renew mlb.com.
