Vaughn could end up in SEA or HOU

Recommended Posts

You would think Sheets makes more sense for those teams. Cheaper and pretty much the same production. Plus, not only can he play 1B/DH he can play the OF as well lol.

While Sheets is not an OF, his familiarity with the position is probably a point in his favor. I've always seen him as a lefty bench bat who doesn't get badly exposed in extended stretches of starting at 1B/DH.

Sheets "familiarity" with the OF is much like my "familiarity' being a billionaire.  I understand it in concept, and maybe even pretend to be one at times, but don't have the actual qualifications or ability to do so.

I'm very curious about the times you have pretended to be a billionaire.

Please trade Vaughn!

if they do trade Vaughn, you think that would impact the draft at all? I hope it wouldnt, but this is the white Sox.

The last thing the Mariners need is another physically maxed out low power low average 1B. Houston I could see out of desperation, but i don't think they are that desperate.

I could see Vaughn going to another team and getting better.

Ever since the TLR era hitting has gotten worse and yet players have yet to overcome it.

Good organizations will also send a player down to work on something.

He's still a wasted 1st round pick.

Vaughn to the Astros for Matthews and Melton I would do.  Vaughn really does fit their lineup.  Hitting behind guys like Altuve, Alvarez, Tucker, Bregman and Pena would be beneficial for him

Well, yea, Melton is a top 100 prospect.  Of course we'll take that deal.
But as of now, we appear to be scuffling to get a top 100 for Fedde, who, unlike Vaughn, is a really good player.

Where did this come from?

Norby, Beavers...these guys aren't top 100 (now I'm just using MLB rankings because it's so convenient to looking things up).

I'll go at it another way, if Vaughn is worth a 50-100 player, Fedde is worth a top 30 plus a 50-100.

Pretty sure we aren't getting a top 100 for Andrew Vaughn.  Fedde should be a different story.

Point being on a Vaughn to Houston trade is that they have nothing else besides those two.  It's gonna be tough for them to make moves this trade deadline.  They might have the worst system in the league

I'd be ecstatic if we could get a top 30 organizational prospect for Vaughn

It does appear a couple of teams could  use him, but I can't see it being for much.  Dude has a pretty big price jump on the calendar next year if they tender him.

If anything helps with selling Vaughn, it's that since June 1st, he's in the Top 6 for average, OBP, slugging and wRC+ for first basemen.

The hope is that someone thinks they can tap into this more than the rest of his mediocre career so far.  Granted mediocre would be an improvement at 1B over a couple of contending teams have now.  I think we are looking something in the 10 to 20 range in terms of a prospect ranking out of a teams top 30.  Maybe more like a top 10 guy out of an awful system like Houston.

He’s doing worse than Singleton, but maybe the short porch in left field would help him.

I can’t imagine any teams trading anything of value for these two busters.  First basemen without any power and not really any other redeeming qualities.  We don’t even want them and we are fans of the worst team in baseball.  Why would contending teams want them?
