Bonemer is a strong athlete who should stick on the left side of the infield and has one of the most exciting power-speed combinations in the 2024 high school class. He was a standout performer during the 2023 showcase circuit, rocketed up draft boards and is viewed as one of the top prep hitters in the class. Listed at 6-foot-1, 195 pounds, Bonemer has a stiffer setup in the box that features a tucked-in front shoulder and a lack of rhythm. His pre-pitch movement was a concern for some scouts, then he started hammering most everything that was thrown at him. Bonemer fires his hands with impressive bat speed and strength and made consistent loud contact that translated into game power for home runs. He homered twice at Perfect Game’s National showcase against 93 mph fastballs and then was one of the better hitters at the Area Code Games, where he went 6-for-11 (.545) with three doubles, four walks and three strikeouts. Bonemer has plus raw power potential and is a plus runner who has solid actions on the left side of the infield. He’s played shortstop and third base and has more than enough arm for either position. He has solid body control for his size but could outgrow the middle infield and fit better on a corner, where he could be an above-average defender. A lean lefthander with a great pitcher’s frame at 6-foot-3, 185 pounds, Larson is an exciting, yet erratic, arm on the mound who creates an uncomfortable at-bat for both lefties and righties. He has a high-effort delivery with a lot of moving parts, including a high leg kick, a sharp stabbing action in the back of his arm stroke and a violent finish including a head whack and a hard fall off to the third base side. Larson throws from a lower three-quarters arm slot that is almost fully sidearm at times and has tons of arm speed as he delivers the baseball. It’s a reliever look now, but Larson does have impressive pure stuff, led by a low-90s fastball that has been up to 96. He has a chance to throw 100 mph one day. The fastball also has sinking and running life and when he puts it over the plate it is a real bat misser. Larson’s main secondary offering is a sweepy slider in the upper 70s. The pitch has big shape and spin rates in the 2,600-2,800 rpm range and could be an above-average offering as a chase pitch to lefties and a backfoot breaking ball to righties, but like his fastball he needs to sharpen the command of the offering. Larson will occasionally throw an upper-80s changeup but the pitch is rudimentary at the moment and a distinct third offering. He has consistently shown below-average control and command that will need to improve in the future. An Iowa native, Larson transferred to IMG Academy for his senior season and pitched well. FB/slider seems to be dominant with those 2 guys. Sox seem to like teaching cutter,CU, curve. Just my general impression. Haven't dove into it.
