winninguglyin83
Baseball America has started its Top 10 prospect lists for every team in the game. They're beginning with the NL East this year. I found it very interesting that Royce Ring, our Number One pick in 2002 and one of the guys the Sox traded for Robbie Alomar, did not crack the Top 10. Either the Mets are flush in the minor leagues or Ring has more questions than everybody thought.

They got some great prospects in Reyes and Heilman (who i got to see play) and Huber, Garcia, and a few others are pretty good. I'm still surprised though that Ring didnt fall somewhere around 6-8, so not in top 10 is odd, thet Mets farm system is good, but not great
Chisoxfn
Ring lacks the fastball that will "wow" the scouts so he won't find himself on that list. That lack of a fastball will also be what he hears when he tries to become the Mets closer, imo. He'll be solid, nothing more, nothing less, imo. kramer99
When the sox drafted ring, the website didnt say that they drafted a closer...it said they drafted a left handed specialist...so even when they drafted him (a moment where you usually over-hype players), they didnt think he would ever be a closer. He will probably turn out to be somewhere in between a Marte and a Wunsch BTW...where on the BA websght does it talk about other teams besides the Braves??? CubKilla
Was Ring a Top 10 when he was with the White Sox? IMSMC, he wasn't.

YASNY
It is sad that a former, recent, healthy 1st round draft choice of ours can't even make the Mets top ten prospect list. Speaks volumns about our scouting when you take into consideration such names as Delareo, Stumm, M. Johnson, Borchard.
