Might get pulled but will fight to stay in obviously.

Zimmerman and Scherzer other no hitters in WSH.

Joe Musgrove with other no hitter in team history, Luis Arraez noe on SD broke up Cease attempt two years ago.

Yeah who really cares? It's not like he is on some Frank Thomas level or something. I mean good for him, but it means nothing ultimately. Phillip Humber threw a perfect game and he sucked.

Big rain delay in middle... didn't come out bottom of first was fortunate.

First Cease career no hitter.

3.50 ERA.

10th win in 22 starts.

117 pitches 71 strikes and 9 k's.

No who did the Sox get for Cease?

Did you watch it? I tuned in on MLB TV mid celebration and its just like, he would be our ace and the only reason he isn't is because the owner has no desire to pay people high level money. It sucks.

I would only be annoyed if the Padres could trade Cease now for more than what the Sox got back, which may or may not be true.

But I know Cease wouldn’t be this good with Getz’s awful offseason built defense playing behind him.  Thorpe also helps.

Good for him.

If the Padres were more of a class organization, they would send us over a little something extra....I'm sure Jerry wouldn't say no to a little "money named later."

And still higher than Drew Thorpe. Crazy.

Comparing ERAs between one starter with only 38.2 innings pitched and another starter with 131 innings pitched doesn’t seem like the greatest comparison.  One mediocre to bad start could shoot up Thorpe’s ERA through the roof.

Also, don’t look at their respective K/9.  Hopefully, Thorpe improves his over time.  Until then, only Cease can be considered a true ace.
