The entire league knows a move is imminent so keeping him out is an easy explanation. Best case scenario is that he has 4 strong innings which doesn’t really impact his trade value. More likely is that Pedro pulls him at the first sign of trouble and he doesn’t make it through three. Worst case is that he comes off with some sort of injury or even just soreness/inflammation. I made a post about wondering if when Getz confronted Crochet about the possibility of an extension which he quickly turned down (don’t know if they got into the numbers or not), did Getz then proceed with discussing the Sox plan with Crochet and his agent regarding moving him at the deadline to get their thoughts.
