ChiSox59
Id give Eloy maybe 2 weeks tops on that roster before he’s DFA. They have better options and won’t have nearly the patience the Sox had with his shenanigans.

So they got out of some of Eloy’s remaining salary for this year and also his $3 million dollar buyout? This trade, the Tanner Banks trade, and the Robbie Grossman trade are Getz’s only unquestionably good trades. Apparently, the Orioles don’t realize that Eloy’s career OPS is .790 and he hasn’t put up an OPS higher than that since 2022.

Meanwhile, the Cardinals have started Pham at DH and now LF tonight. The Sox literally have not cared about outfield defense for decades. It’s embarrassing. I think @ChiSox59 will be proven right and Eloy will be cut before the end of the season. They will eventually call back up Kjerstad whom they sent down for Eloy initially. Jesus, I realize that the Sox called Eloy back up too early while he was still hurt to try to get some sort of trade value out of him prior to the deadline, but how long does it take this walking disease to heal? Doesn't matter if they rushed him back or not, he never puts in the damn work to stay on the field.

Eloy's 2024 salary is around $14M, so figure between 1/2 to 1/3 of that remained, plus the $3M buyout. Maybe they saved $4-5M?

Falstaff
With Eloy getting traded James Kruk's workload just decreased 25%. Going forward the in house " Little Rascal " scooters are strictly for JR and the rest of the Board of Directors. Chris Getz, " The trade allowed us to allocate more funds for acquiring players instead of updating our batteries in our scooter fleet."
